Hello everyone!

My DD's 5th birthday is coming up in April after easter. Any ideas on good candy to score for goodie bags? Her party theme is "Ice Skating Unicorns" - I know hysterical!! We are having the party at our local ice rink, and my brother who is a graphic designer said he'd make invitations for her of a unicorn on ice skates :rotfl:

I was hoping to find those unicorn pops (the long twisty ones), maybe some cotton candy (those are being advertised in our supermarket flyer now as passover appropriate), ring pops...but was also thinking that post-Easter candy sales would be good too. I'll buy pastel M&Ms and jelly beans to use in making the unicorn cupcakes (try googling that term, lots of funky things come up that are not child-appropriate!), but was looking for any other suggestions. I don't want to give the girls at the party chocolate bunnies or anything, but there must be some easter candy that doesn't scream easter, right?

Any of the pastel colored wraped stuff that does not have bunnies on it will be great!! Watch your sales and get 50% or more off!!! Great time for her b-day!!!

My daughter's birthday is also in April after Easter. I tried to do this last year...I wanted to fill her pinata with clearanced Easter (non bunny type) candy. Specifically I wanted the pastel m&ms they sell for her cupcakes. She was having a pig party and I was going to use the pink ones in the package.

Well I guess the stores around here are no fun...they pulled all the Easter stuff before Easter (either that or it went on sale early and people went sale crazy) and there wasn't anything to be found except for some plastic grass and random chicky napkins.

It surprised me! She ended up with brown m&ms on pink frosting and I had to buy regular old expensive candy for the pinata. My advice...if it is anything you really NEED for the party...buy it early and watch the stores...they may clearance candy before Easter.

I think it's great. Whenever I think of Unicorns (not that I do that often :rotfl:), I imagine Easter colors--pink, purples, pastel green, etc.
