I hope you are right...however, I must respectfully disagree. November is not Spring Break. Unless she traveled Thanksgiving weekend and got this deal it is not looking hopeful for Easter weekend. All codes/pins that have been released are showing blackout dates for April1-14
I realize that November is not Spring Break, but an empty room is an empty room.
I think that in the past, DISers booked rooms and hoped for a discount later (as I have done also). Last year, we all did that and...no discounts for Easter.
I didn't do that this year, and I think a lot of people feel the same way. Hence the large availability of every room category at BWI (which I have been checking) Even Deluxe CL, which always sells out quickly, is still available.
Disney can hold the line on prices because it is 'Spring Break', but that's not going to sell those rooms. Hence my 'trick up their sleeve' comment. I can't imagine what their strategy is when our strategy is simply not to pay outrageous prices.
Who is going to blink first? Are Disney customers going to relent and say 'aw shucks, I'll pay $545 for a std BWI room. it's magic, after all'. I don't think so.
And if it does turn out that they make more money selling less, higher priced rooms, then good for them. That's the model they will use. But I won't be spending my money on a Disney room, and all the associated costs that go along with it.
