We didn't have a real Easter break this year, but our schedule allows for a trip this coming Easter!:cool1: So...Can anyone share what types of deals thare were this past Easter break? Were there actual discounts over the holiday becasue of the economy? Should we wait untill the rates are released to book for next year?

TIA for any help!:flower3:

The biggest offer was the buy 4 get 3 free offer. However, officially the week of easter and the week before it were blacked out. But there were some reports here that people were able to get the deal even during the supposed black out period.
If you are a AAA member, there will be room discounts available.

Easter week is just about the most expensive and most crowded time to visit WDW, only second to Christmas/New Year's Week. WDW doesn't typically run specials or discounts during busy holiday weeks. They only run specials and discounts when they need to fill resort rooms and they don't have any trouble filling rooms during Easter week.

Disney did offer the 4/3 deal during Easter this year, but as you suspected it was due to the economy and low bookings. We originally booked AAA discount during Easter just to get our reservation. But then as Easter approached and the 4/3 deal was offered, we changed our reservation and saved a LOT of money. If you know for sure you're going during the break, then I'd book as soon as possible and then just call and edit your reservation if/when deals are released.

Thanks for the information! That is what I thought I remembered hearing.:)

I agree with TJA to book as soon as you can if you know that's when you will be going since Easter is a very popular week....as your ressie can be adjusted should a deal be offered for your dates :goodvibes. If I remember correctly, there weren't any blackout periods when the 4/3 deal was first announced because I remember thinking that bookings must really be down if Disney is offering such a great deal during a peak period . But when the the 4/3 booking window got extended, spring break & Easter were then blacked out :rolleyes1. Just keep in mind that if you want to book a package, you have to wait until the 2010 prices are released, which is usually sometime in August ;). You can book room only now, which will be quoted at 2009 peak/holiday prices, and then adjusted once the 2010 prices come out :). Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.

My son is participating in Music Days over Easter 2010 so after reading this post, I booked room only for the days I need. Looking forward to rates being released and if any deals will be offered during that time frame.

I believe the only deal was the 4/3 deal. No AP discounts the week before or week after. Remember, discounts are offered to fill rooms. During the higher season folks are willing to pay the price w/o a discount. It all depends on if there are rooms to be filled. I would plan to pay full price and if there are discounts, then that will be extra money back in your pocket.
