We're thinking about a 3 day surprise trip for grandkids (3 & 5 yrs) for Easter. Is Disneyland as exciting on Easter as it is on Christmas? What are the decorations like? Is the Easter Bunny there? Do they have an egg hunt? Thanks.

I dont believe they have an easter egg hunt, they do not even have a special parade. But it will be crazy crazy busy. Sorry I can't give you more info.

I read on another site there are no Easter decoration either. But they have or have had a Easter brunch in the past. I think you can call Disney dining for details.

We were there last year on Easter Day, as well as a few days after. Yes it is very very busy. You will have the spring break crowds. They don't have any Easter Decorations or anything. I think they do have some kind of special Easter brunch at the DLH.

We were there 2 years ago on Easter, plus a few days before. The few days before (Wed. and Thurs.) were busy, but not too busy. As for Fri. - Sun., it started to get very busy on Friday night and Saturday and Sunday were crazy until Sunday night when all the locals had to go home and we had a great time in the parks on our last night, Easter Sunday. HTH!!:)

I'm not sure but I thought I read that the Easter Brunch would not be held this year. Call Disney Dining to be sure.

They do have some really cute Easter merchandise, but I have never heard of decorations.

We were there for Easter & the week following. It was packed, you could hardly move. LONG lines for everything.....even the bathrooms!! We were wishing they had fastpasses for them (since we had a 2 yr old). It was hard to get up to see the characters because of long lines & when you did get close, it would be time for the character to leave (very heartbreaking for our young ones). Thursday following was the best day of the entire trip......smaller crowds & we were able to flow easily thru the parks with short wait times on the rides (even in Fantasyland).

There are no decorations or special events (other than the buffet held at the DLH). We did pick up a Mickey plush in a bunny costume & a pin but other than that....you wouldn't have known it was Easter.

If you could plan for a different time, I would. Not only is it a holiday weekend but spring breaks will be in full swing during that time.

Who knows, with the success of HalloweenTime, maybe one day DL will start decorating for Easter.

FWIW, they do a little bit of decorating in the windows on Main Street. Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies, stuff like that. Very cute. :)

When I was a kid easter was one of my favorite times at Disneyland because they had different egg hunt sites throughout the park. When you walked in you would get a ticket to one of the sites, then you would go there and pick up an egg that had a prize or candy inside.

I guess that's a thing of the past :sad1:
