Have you gotten yours yet? I am starting to worry. I keep waiting for the price to come down from the 300-700 dollar range. I usually pay between 120 and 170 to fly to florida, even at xmas. what is up? should i buy now or keep waiting?

Who are you flying with? If it is Southwest you can always cancel and rebook at the lower fare.

Other airlines would charge a fee to credit the difference.

I would watch for awhile but wouldn't wait too long since that is a popular time.

unfortunately southwest is almost totally sold out for my dates. so i am looking for the more traditional airlines i guess. we are able to fly our of any of the following airports

philly to orlando
newark to orlando
philly to tampa
newark to tampa
atlantic city to orlando

any suggestions?

I wouldn't recommend Tampa as a first choice. I-4 is under construction and does have delays during the day and night. Have you tried Jet Blue? I would normally tell you USAirways but who knows what will happen with them.

tampa is actually our first choice because DH's sister lives there and we want to add on a day at the beginning and end of our trip to visit her.

still looking for others??? have you bought your tickets yet? what did you pay? what fares are you finding?

thanks!

How about Spirit out of Atlantic City -- I know a friend at work is going Easter Week and spent about $200 flying out of A.C. We just booked an Easter quick getaway and Southwest is running about $1550 for our family of 6 and US Airways is $1650.00.

Good luck!

We just booked our airfare for Easter week yesterday. We ended up with airfare of about $225 pp on Southwest. We're flying into Fort Lauderdale on 3/26 to visit DH's Mom, and then driving up to WDW after a couple days there. We couldn't get a decent flight home from either MCO or TPA so we're driving up to Jacksonville to fly home from there. I know it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive there, but the flights out of both MCO and TPA were ridiclous. I'd also not expect any of the traditional airlines to lower their fares at this time, with maybe the except of the not-so reliable US Airways. Most of the planes are pretty sold out now, I know I checked out of both PHL and EWR. You might have to start to look into alternative airports to fly home, that's what we had to do.

After much looking we managed to get flights from Baltimore to MCO on Southwest for about $176 (total) each at Easter.

Surprisingly we couldn't find decent return flights on most airlines the week after Easter for both us together but Southwest still had some.

And by the way, online at Southwest didn't show the availability that talking to an agent did!

We purchased our tickets back in December. We are leaving on 3/23 from Flint and going to Orlando for $225. This is also a direct flight both ways from Northwest.
