Easter 2018

We just returned from spring break at the beach and know that we want to spend next spring break at WDW. Our break next year coincides with Easter, running from the Wednesday before Easter through the Sunday after Easter. Does anyone have any idea if there will be free dining or other discounts offered next year? Were there this year? We have landed discounts over Easter in the past, but next Easter is earlier in the year.

Should we book the resort we want now and apply any discounts as they become available?

It's nearly guaranteed that there will not be a free dining promo during Easter. Free dining is pretty much a fall thing. Free dining bouncebacks have had a small handful of late spring/summer dates sprinkled in, but that's it.

Easter is a very busy time, due to both the holiday and spring breaks, and there generally aren't a lot of really good discounts. There can be some, but it's a premium time to go to WDW.

Thanks for the reply. We have stayed there over many Easter breaks, but usually wind up with some kind of code. Last time, we found our best rate through Orbitz. Hoping to find some kind of good deal for next Easter. The problem with Orbitz is that the trip must be paid in full when the trip is booked.

We have gone to WDW for the past 7 or 8 Easters, maybe more. We have always received a deal. Years ago, Orbitz used to get us the best deal. Lately, though, Disney has actually offered pretty good deals. This year we are getting around 30% off deluxe - it varies from resort to resort on the exact discount.

It used to be Easter was always blacked out, but I believe since spring breaks are now spread out from February through April that Easter is no longer the only prime/peak week in the spring.

I always wait for the deals to be released to choose my resort (based on the deals!).

Having said that, whenever Easter is in March, I always get a little nervous they will black it out. But lately they haven't been. I think because the rack rates are SO high for that week they can afford a 20% off deal at the least....

Good luck getting a deal - Easter is a GREAT time to be in WDW!
