Hi All

We have booked for WDW starting 8th August for 3 weeks, we have got 10 or 11 days extra at the start which we were going to spend 5 in NY and 5/6 in LA, then down to Florida.

Has anyone done West Coast first then Florida, is it too much of a slog? We did NY first 3 years ago and that was pretty easy, but as much as I want to see California part of me thinks it might be too much and easier to spend the full 10/11 days on the East Coast??

By the way there is me, the good lady wife, Beth 15, Ellie 13, Josh 8 and Beths friend Courtney (say hello Courtney) she will be 15 while we are there and never been to the US before

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Steve

Hi

Haven't done LA to Orlando but have flown from Vegas to MCO at Christmas last year and thought the flight was great ...... A chance to fly over some of the amazing countryside the US has to offer. Was about 6 hour fligt so not too bad.

LA is an amazing place to visit.

Disneyland and Universal Studios were better than expected (although when comparing to Orlando they've got a lot to live up to :) )

I'd definately be thinking of the East /West trip, but would love to drive down I95 from New York to Orlando, think it would be an amazing experience.....have you considered that?

We did 2 weeks Florida then flew to Vegas and did 3 weeks there and California and flew back from LAX.
Just my opinion, but flying to NY different timezone, and just getting settled into it, when you are flying about 5 or 6 hours into a different timezone, before flying back to the east coast to change timezones again.

I had thought about the drive south, I checked it in 2009 but we flew in the end. It is around 1050 miles from NY to Orlando, but we could stop along the way and do it in 3 days.

Also, toyed with the idea of the Amtrak across from Penn St in NY to LA.

Never given the time zones much thought to be honest, dont think that would be a deciding factor, we could live with that.

Thanks all for your help

Steve
