15th October
We were up a little later than intended this morning so we had to rush a bit to be ready in time for our 9:30 ADR at Ohana. We made it by the skin of our teeth and Stitch visited us first, followed by Lilo then Pluto and Mickey. We really enjoyed the breakfast food here: I loved the biscuits and Steve was a big fan of the eggs and wedges.
I think most of the characters did this pose with Steve, heh!
After breakfast we drove to Reigs Gun Shop on Orange Blossom Trail as Steve wanted to go shooting. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive but theyre well used to us gawping Brits here: Very friendly and they show you exactly what to do whilst emphasising the importance of respect for firearms. Steve tried I think four different guns and I played photographer then we both posed for pictures with an AK47 (under duress on my part!) Steve really enjoyed himself though even he was surprised that they give you live ammo to use! I think it was about $80 total if anyone or their husband/partner is interested.
Excited!
After Steve had his fun it was time for me to have mine, next stop was the Florida Mall! We wandered and shopped here for a while then drove to the Bass Pro store as Id hoped to find a present for my dad there but unfortunately it wasnt to be so we pressed on to Target for some bits and pieces (sweets, ibuprofen, Dramamine, mascara) By now it was getting past 5 so we drove to Sweet Tomatoes on South Kirkman for dinner, excellent as always! Our final outing of the day was Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights so we joined the long line for the car park and entered at 6:30. We went through a couple of scare zones to get to the Silver Screams house which made me jump a bit but the house had me clinging to Steve and I pretty much realised I wasnt going to go in any of the others. Beforehand I thought I might be a bit apprehensive but I was literally scared stiff walking round, not nice.
Our one and only photo from HHN!
Next we watched the Bill & Ted and Rocky Horror shows which were both excellent and almost worth the admission alone so I didnt feel quite so bad for not wanting to do any more houses! Have to say though, even if wed wanted to the wait times for around an hour for all of them by 7 Seemed like if you didnt have Express Passes (more $$$) there was no way youd be able to fit in more than a few of the houses. This was a quiet night by the way! We left around 9 and I have to say weve both sworn off Universal Studios Florida for the foreseeable future, just not somewhere we seem to enjoy very much. (yet we loved the one in Hollywood, weird!) We drove back to CSR, stopping off at Downtown Disney on the way where I bought some things from the World of Disney Store, then bed around 11.
