East Bound Transatlantic Magic May 8th 2022 - Let's try this again... :)

We are Janet and Bill from Greensburg, PA. This is our first transatlantic and we can't wait. Heck, we simply can't wait to get back on a ship! :goodvibes

@bobbiwoz, please add us to your breakfast list. Thanks!!
welcome!

I will be leaving the updated post in #17...adding as people mention.

So any tours or excursions on this grand cruise can anyone recommend .. To be honest there are just so many to choose from.

Years ago we did a three hour bus ride around the island (Azores)and stopped to see gorgeous landscapes and local architecture. I may be leaning to the five hour tour this time.

The other places are new to me. We did spend three nights in Barcelona after that TA. We used Barcelona day tours as the company and we were very satisfied!

Many thanks, I have read in a few other places that an Island tour of Ponta Delgada was the way to go. Was yours with a guide or just driver???

When in Barcelona.. Is it hard to walk anywhere from the port?? I guesss I am asking is there anything in that immediate area worth the walk.. ???

In Barcelona, we were picked up at the port by Barcelona Day Tours. We did a tour of Barcelona and then got dropped off at our hotel. I do not know about walk ability to sights.

We generally book cruise line group excursions.

OK, I will admit I have been a little down in the mouth about cruising this last year... So I have not been paying the attention that I should have to all of Disney's cruise offerings..

Does everyone know that you can get a 3 day cruise on the Magic before the WBTA,,???

Now in my opinion with the 3 day cruise and the stop over at Castaway Cay the Transatlantic cruise is perfect.

All with out leaving the Boat..

Our first TA, in 2013, on DCL went out of Galveston and did stop in CC. On that stop, the Fantasy and the Dream stopped by and saluted the Magic! We heard all the horns, and DH and I had tears in our eyes, it was touching!!

^ Thanks for the links!

Want to know the sad part.. So after reading your original post of this.. I excitedly go running through the house to my bride to tell & show her of this wonderous event. She looks at me and goes "Oh I have seen those before".. :( It seems one must always go a step above to stay ahead and impress ones bride.. Life lesson 261 paragraph 9

16 years and it's still that way for me! :)

Anyone else on here with elementary school age kids? We will have our 8 year old boy on the trip.
Our son will be 15 (a rather shy kid), but will gladly talk with anyone who has an interest in trains, planes or other transportation.

That’s why I love the itinerary! Haven’t been to stops except Azores, and that’s a place worth seeing again!

Depending on what you want on previous stops we have gotten off and walked to Roman Ruins and Museum. We might try one of the free walking tours this stop.

That is one of the neat things I see about Cartagena, so must is walkable.. And neat things are close to the port. REALLY NEAT THINGS

So when you say free walking tours, do you mean just walking or is there guides and routs to follow???

We definatly want to go to the Roman theater and that area..

Watched a couple on the Youtube walk along the wall and then up the wall around where the tourest office is. Now these guys had a good attutude, but it showed me that it would have been nice if they had some better information in hand before they started.. (ha is that not always the case)
