Can you get a bus from one of the parks - or is it within walking distance?

Sorry, only been to WDW once and stayed off-site so have no idea where any of the resorts are.

Thanks

From where are you starting? It's a pretty easy walk from EPCOT's International Gate (IG), or you can also take the water shuttle from the same location. I'd say it's 5-10 with either.

Otherwise, you can take buses there, yes. The buses to the Boardwalk let you off at the Inn, or you can also grab a bus destined to the Swan and Dolphin, which will be a slightly longer walk (the same can be said about the Yacht and Beach Club bus, with a longer walk still).

You can walk to the Boardwalk from MGM too. We always find it quicker walking from both Epcot and MGM rather than taking the boat. From AK or MK take the bus to the Boardwalk. If you are coming from a resort I would probably take a bus to MGM and then walk.

Cheers. We are thinking about going there to try Beaches n Cream so wondered what would be the best way. Sounds like we need to go on an Epcot or MGM day then :)

Beaches and Cream is located in the Beach Club, near Stormalong Bay, not on the Boardwalk (sorry if you already knew this.) But like I said earlier walk to the Boardwalk and then carry on around it to the Beach Club. Have fun in B&C, try the Kitchen sink!!

From Epcot you exit at the International Gateway (around United Kingdom) and take a 5 minute walk to the Beach Club for Beaches N Cream. Stay straight on the walk and the Beach Club will be on your right.
For the Boardwalk Inn you also exit at the IG but instead of walking straight turn left over the bridge. This will take you to the boardwalk side with the various shops and restaurants. Keep walking on this path and you will be at the Boardwalk Inn in about 10 minutes after exiting Epcot.
From the Disney Studios you can take the 15-20 minute walk or take the Friendship boat. The boats run from the International Gateway of Epcot to the Disney Studios all day stopping at the Beach/Yacht clubs, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin. They are slow, but it's a nice relaxing ride.

Where does the boat go from please? I take it by Disney studios you mean MGM?

Yes, Disney Studios and MGM are one in the same. When you exit MGM you will veer off to the left and the boat docks down there. You can also walk, but it is a bit of a hike. Although walking is faster, we are ready to be off our feet and enjoy the boat ride. If you are going to Beaches & Cream you will get off at the Yacht & Beach Club. If you are going to the Boardwalk you will get off at the Boardwalk. If you are coming from Epcot you will exit the International Gateway path between UK & France. You will see a boat dock, but the walk is short. You will go over the bridge and continue straight to get to the Yacht & Beach Club or take a left to go to the Boardwalk. I'll try to see if there is a map out there and post the link.

Here is a copy of the jogging map for the area. Hopefully this will help you get your bearings. The only thing not listed is MGM. It would be near the bottom left side of the map.

We are staying at the Wildeness Lodge. But, we are meeting our friends at Spoodles for dinner. Whats the best way to get there?

Thanks!

From the Wilderness Lodge you will need to take a Disney bus to Epcot or the Studios and follow the instructions above. Actually the walk from the main entrance of Epcot to the International Gateway is a long one so take the Studios bus. Your other option is to take a taxi from your resort directly to the Boardwalk Inn. Spoodles is a few doors away from the hotel.
Taxis are normally waiting outside all WDW resorts. If one is not there a Cast Member will call and get one for you right away.

Or the last option is to take the boat over to the MK and catch the Boardwalk bus from there. That's what I would do.

Great idea SLP87. I completely forgot about that option. Your way is absolutely the easiest. Also, if I remember correctly from our trip last month, the Boardwalk is the first stop on the bus. We shared with the Swan and Dolphin for the main parks. Only the DTD bus was shared by all the Epcot resorts.
That's why I love these boards!!!!!
