We are coming for the first time in May!

We are staying at the Pixar Place Hotel & there are 3 adults and a 1year old.

We could bring her car seat in a carry bag & check it on the plane. I understand we can then call an Uber as long as we install the car seat ourselves? Is this correct?

Or would it be easier to use a car service & request a car seat? We are trying to keep the cost under $150 or so each way if possible!

Thanks!

I've always brought my own car seat and then used rideshare. It's not that hard to install yourself. It's a lot cheaper and then I also had peace of mind that I really would have a car seat that was the correct size. Also don't know if this is an option for you but back the few times I did this I had the car seat attached to the stroller in the airport so I could check it at the gate for free (plus then I knew it wouldnt be lost)

That’s a great idea! I just checked and I can check both at the gate of our airline for free. Thank you!

Personally, we used a car seat on the actual plane with our child around that age (and even older.) We bought a cheaper/light weight seat from Walmart (Cosco brand when 17 months old. Then an Evenflo brand when a bit older.)

We tethered it to a rolling carryon for ease of transport when walking through the airport. Then installed it onto the window seat on the plane. (We were able to family pre-board so we didn't feel rushed or anything.) Our son was so used to being a 5-point harness seat in the car, that it made the plane ride a breeze! Then we had the seat with us to install in a rental car (though obviously you can do this in a ride share as well.) And we didn't have to worry about baggage handlers throwing it around.

Quality of pic is terrible. But here's our son back in 2015. Roughly 17 months old. (We brought that little tray but found it wasn't really necessary and never brought it again after this trip.)

This is also the safest if, God forbid, there's any turbulence.

All great suggestions and we often travel with our car seats on the plane.

We do, however, sometimes reserve Anaheim Town Car (or other similar shuttle) where it's a private car and car seats are included. I know many don't trust car seats they are not familiar with, and I appreciate that perspective. We are very cautious. I only use this particular shuttle because the car seats have always been in excellent condition like new and installed correctly when they arrive to pick us up.

Sometimes, when we go to SoCal just for DLR, it's not worth the hassle of lugging around the car seats too.

We always bought a seat for our kids on the plane and had them strapped into the car seat on the flight - so I guess not fully understanding the question.
