The New English Translation is an accepted academic translation and is readable (no thine, thou, etc.)
That's the version I used in college religion classes 35 years ago, and my kids are using now in college.

So the other day when I wanted to read something, I had to read the only bible we had, which is a KJ one that my daughter got when she went to church with her friend. It doesn't matter to much too me. .. any bible is better then no bible. But I would love to pick up a good Catholic one, no offense to non-Catholics, but I am Catholic. I was under the impression that our ones have more books.
