Easiest Character Meal to attend w/o PS?

I would like for my kids to be able to attend one character meal while we're at Disney next week. However, I KNOW my husband will not want to commit to a meal in advance, so I didn't bother to make PS arrangements. I know he'd be ok with a last minute decision, though. So...what would you suggest we try to get into same day or to call ahead for the next day?

Thanks,
Pam

Depends where you want to eat. We've eaten at Chef Mickey's without PS, but we go when it opens to avoid waiting. We've also done the character breakfast at Beach Club and never had a problem. Other than Cindies, if you don't mind waiting, I don't think you'll have a problem. To have peace of mind I would try to make a PS the morning of your dinner.

Well, we called for Cape May Character Meal (Beach Club) about 20 days out & they had TONS of choices. When we got there they were taking walk ups with not much wait time.

FYI--We REALLY enjoyed the Cape May character meal. We plan on doing it again during our next trips :)

We'll be staying at BCV so that would be perfect!!! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!

We have made a late PS to Cape May with no problems and even walked in once with only a 15 minute wait for a party of six. The kids prefer Cindy's and Chef Mickey's, but they do not complain about Cape May. We think the food is a tad better and the atmosphere a little more relaxed (at least for a character meal).

My husband is the same way! Two months ago we did breakfast at Cape May and a dinner at the Garden Grill. We did make a PS the night before for the breakfast, since I knew we would all be antsy to get to the parks after our meal. At the Garden Grill, we just walked up and got in within 5 minutes for an early dinner.
We enjoyed the character interaction at the Garden Grill more than the Cape May meal. They seemed to be more animated there!

We eat at Crystal Palace virtually every trip and we never book it prior to the day of our meal. When we enter the park in the morning, I stop at City Hall and get a PS for lunch. We've never had a problem getting there this way. This is pretty much the only character meal we do so I can't comment on the availability of any others.

We didn't have a single reservation when we went to WDW last week for any character meals and I felt bad for not making them at first...then I called from our resort as soon as we got there and there were tons of meals that we could get into! We ate at the Crystal Palace twice and there were lots of people getting in without any reservations in under 15 minutes! We also got into chef Mickeys and walked into one in frontierland (I can't remember the restaurant). It wasn't as hard as I though it was going to be, especially if your in a Disney resort.

'Ohana character breakfast is most wonderful and we changed our PS while there. Called a day in a half before and pushed it back a day. Many times to choose from. I think you could safely do this one the day before. Great interaction too! Kids had the best time here(we did too;) )

Wow! And here I was thinking I had no chance of getting in anywhere! Thanks for all the encouraging words!

My dd always insists on eating at the Garden Grill in The Land. We don't make ps's for it and have never needed them. We usually just walk right on. We do eat about 1 p.m. though.
