DS's National Chess tournament will be at the Dolphin in
December. I'm considering pulling DS from the qualifiers
because I don't want to go. This tourney typically allows no
time for between match activities so there we'll be and the
magic will be right outside our door(so to speak) but inaccessible.
What park is the quickest from the Dolphin? I stayed there when
it first opened and remember transportation to be awkward or
slow. Has it changed since then? If we have a few 2 hour
windows, will we be able to get anywhere and back without
missing a match? Opinions please.

You can walk to Epcot from the Dolphin in about 15 minutes. MGM is a little further, probably a 25 minute walk, or you can take the boat in about 20 minutes, depending on how long you wait for the boat to come. These times are just estimates, I didn't actually time it, but I think that's pretty close.

We had very good bus service to MK and AK, but even good bus service takes longer than it takes to walk or ride the boat to MGM and Epcot.

I think Kaycee's times would be pretty close. I would add those would be casual walking times. If your incentives are a little stronger to get some good park time in you could improve some on those times with a brisk walk or maybe a jog. If time is an issue I definately skip trying to use the boats if at all possible. Just don't wear yourself out so that it affects yours son's performance in the tournament. Good Luck

If you're taking the friendship boats, MGM is the park you will get to the quickest!

yeah, this is what I remember - long times for transport.
We won't be jogging between matches, lol. I see Fantasia
Minature Golf is nearby. If we go, we can use some of those extras we never seem to have time to use. Thanks for confirming
my suspicions guys. Maybe a Character meal ....do the Dolphin
or the Swan have them? I'll look it up. Thanks again!
