ease of park hopping?

How long does it take to go from one park to another? (We're staying on site without a car & will have to rely on their transportation). Is the water taxi the only transport between the parks, or are there shuttle buses?

Are you talking about hopping between US and IOA? If so, it's about a five minute walk - the Hard Rock Cafe sits between the two parks. Very easy to do - one day, we went from US to IOA back to US! Just make sure you get your hand stamped when you leave each park.

We stayed at HRH, and it was about a 5 minute walk to US, 10 (or less) to IOA. We never took the bus, and only took the boat once when we went to dinner at Margaritaville at Citywalk. (The boat lets you off on the Citywalk side of the river, not the park side.)

Yes, I should have made it clear that I was talking about going from IOA to US. We're staying at the RPH. I didn't realize it was such a short walk in between parks! Thanks.

You can walk to the parks from your hotel if you don't feel like waiting for the water taxi. These parks are sooooo convenient. You can go back and forth all day.

Does this mean you can go to Citywalk and to the other park without going back to the main gate?

City Walk is between the two parks. You must actually leave a park to get to City Walk and then go back through a park entrance to re-enter the parks. Just get your hand stamped when you leave and park hop all day.

You can walk through CityWalk to the two parks.

Each park has its own main gate. The parks actually are adjacent to each other but since the gates are small there is distance enough between the gates to fit some restuarants. There is more to Citywalk across the water from the gates and restaurants. Maybe this will help:
