Hi everyone...I need some reassurance. My DH and I have been to WDW 3 times in the last 3 years. Each time we have flown from our small local airport on a direct charter flight through a local travel agency. It was great...no connections and you are there in 2 hours! (We live in PA.) Unfortunately, we cannot make the dates of these charter flights for the fall. Therefore, we have to travel on a regular flight, connecting in Philadelphia. I am so nervous! I don't even know what I am nervous about! I have flown to MCO this way, many years ago when I was 19 with 2 friends. I flew to Paris and Madrid a few years ago as well. I think I am just spoiled by these charter flights. I keep worrying about who else is on the plane, what if we miss our connecting flight, etc. Can anyone help me to forget about this and look forward to just being in WDW?

Thanks!

It is NOT silly at all to feel as you do. I think it's perfectly normal to feel anxious when you're about to do something you haven't done in a while. So many people are nervous about flying, especially these days. The key is to not let it interfere (at least not too much) with the fun of your trip!

I fly a LOT and am a little anxious every time, but what helps me is to be sure I have things planned as much as possible before the trip--I make an organized little section in my purse or other carryon bag with confirmation numbers, itineraries, identification, etc. all in one place. I always call at least once soon before the flight to reconfirm everything, and if my connection is going to be tight I minimize the things I'll have to do during the short layover (I pack sandwiches instead of trying to hit the airport food court, use the airplane lavatory instead of waiting in a line for the restroom in the airport, etc.). The biggest thing for me, though, is just to keep my mind occupied with something other than anxiety during the flight. I used to take the most mindless, fun, fluff-filled magazines on board and read those and that would pass the time quickly. Now that I have a toddler and a preschooler to handle, THEY keep me plenty busy during flights!

Sorry I can't help more but I just wanted to encourage you a bit--you'll do just fine. Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you!! I know it is ridiculous, but I don't want to dread my trip because of the flights. Thanks again!!
