Ease My Fears

Hi everyone. So my wedding is coming up soon. Up to this point I have been thinking of bringing my wedding dress with me on the plane. The closer it gets it just seems like I'm going to be bringing so much with me on the plane. So I'm already having Carolyn Allen's coming in to steam my dress. I would like to ship my dress, but I'm terrified that it might get lost. Any past experiences or feedback to ease my fears would be greatly appreciated. Thnx!

I had a great experience! I used FedEx—I think cuz it was cheaper than UPS, but also I hear way more horror stories about UPS—and it got there in less than a week from California. The lady from Carolyn Allen brought it to my room at 5am on the wedding day and steamed it. The day after our MK bridal portrait, I left it at Bell Services at our hotel, CA picked it up, and they sent it back to our house UPS (slower, a little more expensive—boo!).

It was SO easy! It was really one of the best decisions I made for the wedding.

I can't say it didn't seem weird plopping my dress into a cardboard box and sending it (we did ups - check the calendar for holidays! We forgot about MLK day!), it went insured and trackable. I could follow along on the computer!


Great service, worth way more than what you pay A CM even went on and on to me about how great they are and how long they've been around!

Thanks ladies. I called them today and they said UPS ground. Does it matter if it's Fedex? They do tend to be cheaper. I was checking. LoL I think I'm now leaning towards sending it to them with tracking (great idea Sambycat). I also realized that the weekend when I get my dress is Labor Day weekend but it should get there in time. I'm still just a bit anxious about sending it but I'm reassured with the positive feedback and it just seems like a lot less hassle. Wish me luck!

good thing you noticed about the holiday - you can send it a little early! it WILL go great! i'm telling you it's the best service. the guys did their tuxes there and it was all really great. so don't worry a whit about that - instead, worry about the weather....

LoL. Funny you should mention that! I just hope there's no hurricane! It says in Beaute Speciale's contract that in case of a bad hurricane they won't come out..Well I'll wait til it get's closer to freak out about that. LoL.

I think I am going to send it. It makes sense to send it instead of worrying how I'm going to get it there along with everything else. Thanks again for the feedback.

it amuses me that you are worried more about your mascara than the actual wedding coming off! because girl, even if we float down the aisle, i'm gonna look fierce!!!!!

awesome!!! ahhhhhhh, girl i am SO glad its done!! the next few weeks are the best and the worst - but you are gonna have the best time! if your head doesn't pop off!

Carolyn Allen's uses UPS when they send out packages, but it doesn't matter who you use when you send a package to them—they'll still get it! Unless it's, like, a carrier pigeon...
