Pretty good shaker from our vantage point while eating @ Outback Steakhouse in Rohnert Park. Afterward...the shaking subsided (10 seconds or so) everyone erupted in chear. Those at the bar were asking for free drinks afterward. Gotta love CA!!!!

A 4.4 quake is considered "minor" be we did shake pretty good. Of course, no damage anywhere.

For a minor quake like that one...sure. It shook us up pretty good for a very short time, but it was obvious that it wasn't very large. From my seat, I felt like I was lifted up twice and the lights overhead swayed. No, that wasn't common behavior. But we were in public and like I said, it was obvious there was no damage. So why not hoot and hollar a little....

i had been talking to my mom on the phone (she's in napa) and had just hung up. she called me back a minute later and said she was walking across the room when she felt it as well as saw her 'chair' shake back and forth. now given that her chair is a recliner with a massivly heavy lift seat mechanism (takes 2 strong guys to move the thing) i tended to think it was more than a small rumble, funny thing is mil across town did'nt feel a thing (but the same thing happened to us during bigger ones).

thanks for posting the info-the stupid sacramento news stations never break in or do tickers with news like this.

When I got home I logged onto the USGS website and I've been watching KRON's 9pm news and it's pretty much all they're talking about...even for such a minor quake. People are getting their 15 minutes of fame by calling in and telling the news casters what they were doing and how it felt. All the Bay Area news stations at least had tickers. Napa is faily close...I'm sure it was felt there w/ some reasonable strength (except your house...).

Gary Radnich (KRON) just said it pretty appropriately...."if you're from CA, you're used to this and if nothings falling off the walls...then you're like, oh well, ho hum. What's for dinner?"

Sounds like Gary!

We didn't feel it here in the East Bay. In fact, it's been a while since we had one that we felt. I just remember back to '89 & am grateful we haven't had any more like that! I'll take our little temblars over snow, hurricanes, tornadoes....

lord i miss kron, and kpix, and kgo, but esp. ktvu. here in dixon the only news stations you can get via cable or satelite are the sacramento ones (and they are terrible). i love going to mom or mil's and watching the ten o clock news on ktvu-they must be the best station to work for-their newstaff has gone largely unchanged for decades.

yup, unless something tumbles over or off the wall-no biggie. we have a momento of the one that hit napa in the mid 90's-a grandmother clock with a crack in one of the glass panes.
