I have just heard a rumour that the Earthquake ride is closing. Can anyone shed any light?

According to Screamscape and other websites, the pre shows are being rehabbed.

Yes, they are redoing the preshow right now. There have been rumors that the whole ride may go down for 6 weeks starting on Nov. 5 for a refurbishment. Right now, all we have are rumors/specualtions though as far as the 6 weeks refurbishment.

Oh... that's really good - i was worried it was going all together. It's one of my favourites! I agree though - the rehabed preshow will have to be an improvement

Gotta love me some Charlton Heston though. When I was there in July I did this and was just thinking how old it is with Heston and all, must have been one of their first rides. I think Earthquake was what 1976 or something? Still a pretty cool ride IMO. But a re-hab will spice it up.
