Here is the news from the LA Times. I have heard on other sites that it was felt at DL and they shut down the rides to test them. Hope doesn't shake up our DL 1/2'ers too much:(

A moderate earthquake struck in California's Cleveland National Forest this morning, eight miles northwest of the city of Lake Elsinore.

The quake measured 4.7 on the Richter scale and struck at 10:29 a.m., according to Caltech seismologist Kate Hutton. The shaking was felt in four counties, including parts of Los Angeles and Riverside.

There were no early reports of injuries or damage.

I would like to think that racing during an earthquake might assist me in a PR, as the shock waves might bounce me forward during my run :rotfl: . Of course, your Garmin GPS might be off due to all that side-to-side shaking during the event. Shake, rattle, and roll all you DL 1/2-ers! Have fun!

I felt it!!! I thought OMG was that an earthquake? Then I said, just because you are in CA right now does not mean you are going to have an earthquake. It wasn't until later in the day when we heard other people talking about it that I realized it really was one!!

I have been through about about almost a dozen eartquakes in my life. Some in So Cal, Nor Cal, OR, and here at Tahoe. Some have been quite strong enough to shake the buildings or cause or cause to swerve. They are scary but something us West Coast people have to live with.

Glad it wasn't the big one. Good luck tomorrow:)

We were there on Sunday during the earthquake but did not feel anything. We were either waiting to board or were on Small World when it hit. As we left Small World we noticed that Matterhorn was down so we continued walking through Fantasyland and noticed that the lines were extremely long for things that usually don't have lines. We decided to head over to Big Thunder Mountain and it too was down. Same thing for Pirates, Splash, and Indy. Since it was so hot and nothing seemed to be working at DL we decided to head over to DCA for our lunch reservation. On the way there we stopped at a pin cart and that's when we were informed about the earthquake from a cast member. My question is, does anyone know how long the rides are down after an earthquake such as this? We didn't stick around at DL to see.
