Earplanes for kids

I bought DD's at CVS. They had adults and kids. You can also order them online. Just do a search and pick a store. We used these for the first time a few weeks ago and they were great! We made sure to put them in 1/2 hour before dessent. DD, 6, was leery about putting anything in her ears but adjusted very to them. You can still hear pretty good. I already bought another set for our December trip.

Ask your pharamcist to order them for you if you can't find them at the store.

I found them at Wal-Mart. They had regular Earplanes and also a knock-off brand that had both adult and kid sizes in one package for a lot less money. HTH :flower:

Just an FYI- my 10 year old son used the earplanes on our last flight and put them in about halfway into the flight. Within about 10-15 minuted he was complaining about an upset stomach and it kept getting worse. Finally the idea came to me maybe those ear things were causing it. I had him take them out and in less than five minutes he was feeling fine again. I had never heard of that as a side effect but I am convinced that they somehow messed with his system and caused the nausea. It was strange to say the least!

I bought them on ebay for my kids!

What the heck are earplanes?

Earplanes are small rubber 'screws' that you put into your ears to help equalize pressure so that you don't get plugged or painful ears as the plane descends. Hope that makes enough sense to help!

Do they work for infants (8 months)??

My brother and SIL did some research before our trip, they found just carry a bottle for the baby and have them drink from it going up and coming down. My niece was fine (18 months), my nephew (6) and niece (4) said their ears hurt. No earplanes. I used them and I didnt really feel that they helped. Years ago when I flew, I was in tears from the pain in my ears. I asked my pharmacist about them and he recommended Sudafed.

We got our at Walgreens. Today we were closer to Chicago, we saw a plane closer to the ground. I told my now 4 year old, hey look a plane, we are going on a plane next Friday to Disney. And I told him I got you suckers and gummy worms for the take offs. He replied to me, And you got my ear things too? Wow it was his first and only flight, he was 3. When we were descending, his ears started to hurt and loudly he let us know he want his ear things back. Which did relieve the pressure, cause then he was fine. :wave2:

We are heading to WDW in Dec. for our first trip there...needless to say I am getting worried....especially since we have colds right now!

Anyway, should any of us still have sinus crud, would earplanes still make it possible to fly?

Thanks!
