I received an offer in the mail for a $200 Disney gift card if I open a Chase Disney Visa. I'm wondering how the Disney Rewards/points accrue ? For example, if I pay $3,000 for our trip using the Visa, what does that equate to in Rewards? Are there certain thresholds that must be hit before redeeming Rewards? If I get the card I will likely use it for all pre-trip expenses and while we're on the trip to obtain the discounts.

Thanks

You get 1% back in rewards for the regular Disney Visa. You get 2% back at gas stations, grocery stores and most Disney locations if it is the Premier Disney Visa and 1% everywhere else. So, you're talking $30-$60 in Dream Rewards Dollars from the Disney trip charges, depending on the card.

You need to redeem a minimum of $10 in points at a time on your rewards card.

We used ours to pay for our utilities, shopping, fuel, groceries, my husband's LASIK, new carpet...etc for a few months and paid it off every month. When our trip came around, we had racked up $500 (six months of charges) to spend at Disneyland on meals. So, now we are saving them up a cruise in a couple years. When we don't use our Disney card, we use our Delta Amex so we can have miles to use for flights.

You need to redeem a minimum of $10 in points at a time on your rewards card.
But the first time that you redeem, it has to be for a minimum of $20 in Dream Rewards Dollars.

Premier card members can also use their points to pay for their airfare.

We do the same as the previous poster, using our card for all bills, groceries and gas except mortgage. We have the Premier card and rack up about $500 a year. This past spring we had $700 to use at Aulani. Hoping we have a few hundred for a trip to DL in the fall.
