Early to mid March verses Early May

When Easter is in mid April is early to mid march very crowded? I'm trying to decide between a March trip or early May trip. From everything I've read May tends to be typically less crowded. I was not sure if that holds true when Easter falls mid April. I know March normally has spring break crowds, but do some schools hold off spring break until Easter? I know in my area of Texas spring break is always in March regardless of when Easter falls.

Easter is March 27th in 2016.

Some schools have breaks tied to Easter (mine does) so that week before and after are always very busy.

Our spring break is usually March 21-27 or so every year. We will be there the first week of March and the crowds are expected 4 or 5s I think.
