Okay so I am confused and a little frustrated. We haven't stayed on grounds for years but doing a split off/on this summer. First three nights off then four on. I booked a package for on grounds paid the deposit. Personalized my bands then thought "oh will I be able to use my magicbands for the first three days or will they send me cards too so we can use our tickets those days"......so I did the online help thing. He said that he couldn't answer that I needed to call. When I called and asked my question they told me that since my tickets (7 day tickets) were a part of a package, the first day the could be used was our check in day. I said that my seven day ticket was longer than my reservation and that I thought the stipulation was that they had to be used within 14 days of first use and that they would be. They went to a manager and came back saying that my 14 days could only be started when I checked in and my three extra ticket days could only be used after my stay. SO........we cancelled our tickets because I couldn't change the order of our stay. (Off site to on site) She kept it as a RO package. Was I given incorrect info???? We haven't bought tickets yet which will now be more. This fiasco was the day prior to their ticket price increase. Help me understand.

Was I given incorrect info???? .

Yes, you were given incorrect info.

You can use your WDW resort package tickets up to 3 days prior to check-in.

The "Phone CM's" are instructed to tell guests that the cannot do so…
but that is not the actual case when you arrive at WDW Guest Relations
and make the ticket request, up to 3 days prior to check-in.

Is this posted anywhere or is it an unspoken rule? She tried to convence me that I needed to buy two sets of tickets. I said absolutely not!! Way to expensive. I feel lied to and like I was being conned into spending more money. Wonder if other unsuspecting travellers have done so. I don't want to think that of Disney.

Count on it, many times over.

The phone CMs will always say you can't use your package tickets early. That is their Mantra. However, you can pick up your package tickets, up to 3 days before check-in. It's been done and done and done. Follow the info from Cheshire Figment, as posted above. Have your reservation info and ID handy. One thing though, I don't see any way to get fp+ reservations for those early days, since you will be receiving your early tickets on arrival at WDW, preceding the start of your resort reservation.

Interesting that you would say that. For the brief time that I had tickets on my package. It gave me the date that I could start making FP+ reservations and I counted the dates on the calendar and it was 63 days prior to my package date instead of 60. I found that to be odd. I counted several times to be sure.
