Early summer or late summer?

Is there a substantial difference in going to Aulani early, middle or late summer?

I don't know if it's a substantial difference, but late summer into Fall begins the slow season for Hawaii, especially with kids going back to school. Many schools are back in session by mid-August, so I would think the later you can go, the better.

I'd like to know what it's like right now. I'm a teacher so this week or next week would be good for me.

Everything seems a little quiet everywhere right now. We were down in waikiki and it seemed almost empty. Hawaii has been back in school since the beginning of the month but I can't say what it's actually like at Aulani. The weather is a little hot and humid (more than normal) but there really isn't a bad time to come. Though, today is Statehood day, so everyone is off work today, it's a BIG holiday here.

I'm a teacher as well and this past week was crowded, but not as bad as I was expecting. We rented a car and drove many days this past week and during peak times but traffic wasn't bad at all (except when we got stuck behind someone going extremely slow....I'm from New York and we don't drive that slow!). This was a great time to go and we saw and did a lot. I was here four years ago during the same time period and crowds were the same. We had a great time and are planning on coming back in two years during the same weeks.

I'm originally from MA. Every day is a test of my patience when driving. I'm almost there. Most days I don't swear.
