Hi All

We are planning to go to Florida for 2 (or maybe 3) weeks next year. By then our boy will be 8 and our girl will be 5.

The question I have is whether we should just go to Orlando for the whole time (and do Disney slowly) or go elsewhere for a bit - maybe the Gulf Coast - and then cram in as much Disney as we can in a shorter time.

Any advice would be great

Thanks

hi :wave2: welcome to the dis

we did disney in a rush last year (our 1st time ) and personally i would not bother going elsewhere but just plan more rest days but thats just what suits us and may not suit you

good luck with the planning :)

i agree with nat, do the 2 or 3 weeks just at disney, and take your rest days, as it is surprising how tiring it can get in the heat and doing the parks. :flower:

Definitely stay for the whole 3 weeks in Orlando and have non park (rest days). 3 weeks is the ideal duration for a visit, there is just too much to pack in, in two weeks.

I wouldn't travel all that way and just do Disney. You'd miss IOA which is fantastic, amongst others.

The question is how desperate are you to do everything you can at Disney? Will you visit again?

If you can spare 3 weeks, I think 2 weeks doing the theme parks and then a week chilling out at the beach is perfect :)

We found after 2 weeks we were so tired we needed the beach week to recover ;)

Personally I would stick with the Orlando area and I would get a villa so that you can just chill out by your pool when you need a rest.

Our children were 7 (DS) and 4 (DD) when we first went and over the past 4 years we've thought about doing a beach resort every year but we're just not beach people so quickly rule it out. Next year we may not even consider it.

If you enjoy chilling out at a beach then 2 weeks in Orlando and 1 week at the beach might suit you. If you just fancy a day at the beach you could always have a drive there for a day.

We only did Disney and Seaworld on our first visit as we knew we would be going back the following year. Seaworld was a disaster as it was sooo hot and the children were sooo grumpy and the queue for food was horrendous so we left early. Seaworld is now my DD favourite park - she has decided that she will become a dolphin trainer.

If you're not going to be going back for a while a few days at Universal is a must.

oops, sorry, i didnt mean just at disney i meant all the theme parks :cool1: in the area not forgetting all the other things like crazy golf, dinner shows etc!

By the sounds of this I need to increase my original expectation to 3 weeks now :) My that is going to be hard :goodvibes
