Hi Marsha,

I am so happy to hear your new cooling paks work great for you. Plus like you said it gave your friend time to cool off too.
we only got a few light sprinkles this evening for 5 minutes.

We have central air but also have installed ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and our familyroom where we spend all our time.

Yes the puppy has learned a lot from Minnie, including some funny habits Minnie has. For example Minnie always slides off the couch slowly and leaves her back legs on the couch and slowly drags them off as she stretches. So now instead of just jumping down off the couch, Pixie stretches her hind legs out and slwoly goes off. But she is so short she falls the last little bit.

But she has learned to use the doggie doors from her and how to sit and wait for treats. at first she jumped all over for a treat, but she learned that minnie just sat and waited for hers, so she started sitting too and found out she gets a treat quicker by doing that.

Minnie has learned some stuff from Pixie too. Since Minnie had been abused and never show any love she didnt know how to give affection like a dog does by licking you. She never licked us. she would cuddle and snuggle with us and the expression on her face told the story. Now she will lick us sometimes when she gets really excited, after seeing the puppy do it.

Both still get along great. we left them for one hour today and everything was ok when we got home.

we need to get them use to being alone for 3 to 4 hours while we are gone on our cruise. It is so hard to leave them. Minnie is ok because we have left her many times, but the puppy hasnt a clue what is going on when we leave them.

Morning Marsha,
well today I hope to watch the Wonder pull out on the web cams. It seems on Sundays I often seem to get busy and remember when it is too late, but I will try to remember.

Yesterday we spent a lot of time in the pool cooling off. That was our first this summer that we went in.
We worked at getting Pixie use to the water. She can swim great but she is so young that she doesnt have any stamina.

we want to train her where the steps are to get out, so if she ever falls in she can get out ok. If she didnt know about the steps she could get exhausted and drown before finding them to get out.

we do keep a child safety fence up at all times but accidents can happen, so we feel better knowing she will know how to get out if that ever happens.

Minnie hates the water and wont go anywhere near th epool, even if we are in it.

well I know your in for a busy week, dont work too hard, you need to stay feeling good for your cruise!!

Hey girl
I leave in the morning for the week, should return Fri. But am hoping I can get everything done so can return home on Thurs. Hey a girl and dream right? LOL

I will have my laptop with me and check things at night. Not much else to do sitting in a hotel room. Well, except using that time to complete reports, they HEY if do that just maybe will finish by Wed night!!!! Come home on Thurs giving me Friday as a laid back work day from home <G>

Morning Marsha,
well today is suppose to be cooler, only 88 .

I guess this is conditioning for the tropical islands we will be visiting later this month on our cruises. The only time we cruise in the summer is when we take the grandkids and we go then because they are out of school.
We did take them the week before Christmas once which was really nice. we got back on 12/24 and they stayed to celebrate Christmas with us.

Hi Marsha,
I did have a good day today.
I mostly relaxed so my back would feel better and it does.
I made fish sticks and spicy curly fries for dinner. Not the most balanced meal but i didnt feel like bending and stretching for things right now.
I also talked to my girlfriend who lives in Oregon for about an hour. We grew up across the street from each other and were the only girls in the neighborhood,so we are like sisters. She has MS, but is doing pretty well, still getting aound on her own after being diagnosed 5 or 6 years ago.

we did get one short thunderstorm here today but just a quick sprinkle came with it.

I forgot to tell you i traded in my Impala and got a new truck. It is an 07 Silverado Max crew cab. I drive very little so not getting great mileage isnt a problem for me. I love trucks and havnt had one for awhile.
I will try and send you a photo on your e-mail later.

well thats about it for today. I am waiting for Thursday so I can watch the Wonder pull out again.

just time for quick hello as have conf calls this morning, then training to conduct and complete the audit down here. Good thing is I believe I will finish up today so can head home on Thursday instead of Fri.

hi Marsha,

well Pixie has discovered how to dig.
we only ave a couple of places that are soft enough for her to dig and of course she found them, so now we have to break her of it.

She gets a booster on friday, hope it doesnt make her ill.
Minnie isnt feeling well today from her booster earlier this week, but that will pass in a day or two.

I hope you get done with your work early so you can come home early. These thunderstorms have really been nasty the past few days.

are you all set for your cruise?? You only have a few days left.

Hi Marsha,

I hope you finished your work early and are home relaxing now.

I have to take Pixie in for booster shots this morning, early before it gets hot. Then I need to go to the grocery store for a few things.

My back is hurting so I wont get too much stuff. I thought it was all better but I forgot and pick up Pixie tis morning and now it hurts again. My fault.

Yesterday I had to do a out patient procedure but it was quick and was only gone 3 hours. i do this 3 times a year so not a bog deal, but my side is sore for a few days.

No plans this weekend, just small things we need to do before our cruise and to bqathe the dogs. I think greg is going to shampoo the furniture so it doesnt start smelling like dogs That is about all for us.

Any plans for you??

Well Pixie gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks, she is going to be huge, like Maramduke

I was so happy because she has gone outside all on her own a few times today to "GO" without any prompting from me. I think she is finally getting the idea

Now Greg has started leash training her. He takes Minnie at the same time so Pixie immitates Minnie so it will be easier to train her. I hope she will be partially trained by her next vet visit in 3 weeks,so I wont have to pick her up. she is getting too heavy for that.

Kathy by the size of her feet she is going to be a BIG dog. Great to hear she has gone out on her own, smart puppy. And definitely get her leashed trained, you don't need to be lifting or carrying her for sure.

I went to Epcot tonight after work to meet friends. We stayed thru the Fireworks. great night to be there, perfect weather. no rain, nice breeze and actually a comfortable temp with breeze.

I will probably go to one of the parks this weekend. I want to test my therma cool paks in the other vest to see if work well in that one too. Then can decide which vest to take on the cruise.

Can't believe it's like 5 before I leave for the hotel in Cocoa. Then only 6 until we cruise. This time next week we will be at the pirate party. Way cool.

I have to remember to take the dates for Mar cruise with me so I can book while on board <G>

Good morning Marsha,
I was just telling Greg yesterday that is almost time for your cruise.
Wish we were going with you!! Oh well, our time will come

Pixies first lesson a leash went very well and lasted 10 minutes which is long enough for a pup. Greg took Minnie out on her leash too , so Pixie tried to immitate Minnie, that makes training a lot easier. Pixie was so excited when she got to go out with greg and Minnie. Minnie wasnt too happy because she thought that 10 minutes was her walk, but as soon as he brought Pixie back in he went right back with Minnie for her regular long walk.

Today she will get her 2nd lesson. We hope that by her next visit in 3 weeks she will go in on her leash for me, if not Greg may have to try and help me or my Dd who will be visiting then because I re-injured my back by lifting her yesterday. I cant do that again. I used ben Gay last night and today I have a thermal heat pack on and took some excedrin which takes the edge off the pain. But I will be taking it easy all weekend.

Got to get better before the cruise gets here on the 30th.

That is great you got to go to Epcot. I really niss the parks but it just seems between the dogs and my health I havnt got to go for about 6 weeks.

After our cruise we will try to take the grand kids at least one day, probably to MK on a sunday morning when it first opens. Not so crowded then.
we want to take them to Silver Springs too. They have never been there. w etry to do something new each time they come to visit.

we hope to go and see Shrek 3 today. It should be a funny show. At least the first 2 were.

I just hope the doggies behave while we are gone. I should be home to watch the wonder pull out with no problem.
