Early Roll Call For January 29, 2005 western....Anyone Out There?

Hi

(Hi Lisa! Tell Megan that Owen says Hi!! Pls send more pics and e-mails...Owen LOVED it!)

I will be so happy if we get to go to Grand Cayman. My friends just got back from the Costa Maya visit and weren't terribly impressed.

The count down chain is a terrific idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll get crackin on one this weekend.

Any plans for a meet prior to the cruise, say the night before??
We're staying at Ron Jon's...lemme know.

Talk to you all soon!

:)

We are in the home stretch..... You are right about the time flying now with the holidays between now and the cruise. We cruised the same week last year (eastern) and had just enough time to take down the tree and pack before we had to leave. We are thinking about staying at Ron Jons near the port for a few days before the cruise instead of HIFS(for a change). Who is staying there? Where did you book thru? What have you heard about this resort?Does anyone have a 5-6 year old that would like to chat with my 5 year old ciara? Boy or girl.....she would be thrilled with either! Eveyone-STAY HEALTHY!!!! NO FLU!!!!

Hey -
We are staying at Ron Jon's the night before. Hope to arrive around noon and have time to enjoy the pool.

We chose Ron Jon's because of the lazy river, water slides and the fact that we can walk (or catch shuttle) to the beach. They've also got a cool indoor chuck e cheese type playground.

There's a lot of info on it at DCLTribute web site.

We've checked and they will allow us to park there (free) during the cruise. They have a shuttle service to the port, but we may take a taxi.

We have a 5-yo daughter!!

Wondering.... How was the weather that time of year? Was it "swimmable"?????

(Obviously you liked it 'cause you booked again that time of year!)

Let me tell you...the weather on the cruise was mid 70's to lower 80s. We stay in Orlando and do the parks (which it gets cool at night)but the day it is usually ok to swim. But the whole cruise, we swam. No hurricane threats which also is a huge plus. The waves are minimal. The price is a heck of alot cheaper. And we are from Chicago which makes the 70-80s seem like 100's :) .No rain, either. A few late sprinkles. I have been to Cozumel in Jan and everytime it was in the mid 80s. Key West was in the mid 70s in Jan when Iwas there a few years ago.....So, the weather will be great!Where did you book Ron Jons? Did you call the resort direct? I just cancelled HIFS.
What is your daughters name? Ciara would love to 'know' some kids again before we cruise!

Maria,

Won't it be great if our weather this year is as good as it was last year! This will be our 3rd Jan cruise......the other 2 were wonderful. I was thinking about the Palo brunch .....yummy.....yummy.... I can't wiat to go......

Lisa

We are staying at the Hyatt in MCO due to our flying in late Friday. Our DD Megan is 4 1/2 and is looking forward to meeting all the kids in camp. Are we going to do a meet and great on the ship, for those of you who are repeat cruisers where would be a good place and time to do.

Megan is enjoying doing her count down every night, she takes a ring off her paper chain. I can't wait to get back from our Christmas trip to Seattle so I can pack for the cruise. Megan will be getting a lot of Princess items this year and I am planning on making her a little goody bag from the Princesses to be "delivered" to our cabin.

Hope to get to know more of you before the cruise, please e-mail or we can also exchange addresses, Megan loves to get mail in her name.

My DD5 - Makenna says Hi to Ciara & Megan. We are from WI near Green Bay. the last time we cruised the weather at home was below zero, so 70 to 80 felt very good.

We are staying at Quality Inn by the Airport, Friday night as our flight gets in Friday evening.

Brosnan (DS 4-1/2) says hi to Megan, Ciara and Makenna! Are there any 4 year old boys going with us??? Not that Brosnan will care... He's friendly with everyone. In fact, I had mentioned to him a while back that a little girl named Makenna would be on the Mickey Boat and they could play together. Well, from time to time when we talk about the trip he mentions Makenna's name!

Aeris (DD3) will also be going and she plays much "bigger" than 3!

I haven't done a countdown chain yet... will wait until the day after Christmas. I may get some Mickey paper at the local scrapbook store to do it.

And I was so proud of DH! He said to me that Mickey needs to buy the kids a present for under the tree with a note saying how he's looking forward to seeing them on the cruise. I was so proud of him getting into the spirit of things! Almost brought a tear to my eye... ;)

Is it January yet???

My thoughts exactly.....is it January yet???:thewave:

Just to let you all know, at cruise time our oldest DS, Jack will have just turned 6. Our youngest DS, Joe will be 4 1/2. MamaCrush, Brosnan will have someone to play with!

Ciara is soooo excited to have some names...I cant remember them all.Brosnan, Makenna,Megan, Aeris,Jack, Owen, Whewww-Lots of kids! That helps come time to drop them off at the kids clubs. We had to physically pull her out of the club each night.Sometimes kicking and screaming. We are looking into Ron Jons for 1/27-1/29. Either there or maybe Courtyard-Depending on price. Its time (finally) to start planning a Dis meet(or two). One night for everyone and one for us "big kids"...............
Maria

I keep asking Makenna if it is time to start packing yet. DD-2 1/2 Alaina says hi to Aeris. Alaina turns 3 on 2-12-05, I hope I will be able to get her into the clubs with Makenna. Makenna had fun in the clubs last time. But she wants her little sister there too. Makenna & Alaina are both used to playing with older kids, they are the youngest in our neighborhood.
Bought the DD's outfits for Christmas that they can wear on formal night too.
I think we are becoming addicted to crusising we already have a cruise booked for 2006.
I think we will make a count down chain this weekend.
I wish it was January.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

This is great!

Clarry-- Aeris turns 3 on 1/21! I'll have to start telling her about Alaina!

CrowleyFam-- Can't wait to tell Brosnan about Joe!

Maybe we should try posting pictures of our kids to show the others so they can start putting names with faces and getting to "know" each other before they arrive. I'll see if I can figure out how to do that with Aeris' and Brosnan's pix.

We're staying at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach the night before. We got a really good online rate-- $107. From what I understand it's not far from the port. We considered Ron Jons, but we won't be getting in I don't think until 5-6 pm Friday night, so we really wouldn't have a chance to use the resort area. Anyone know anything about the Hampton Inn?

I've never wanted to rush through Christmas before! But I won't let myself start REALLY planning for the cruise until 12/26!

I am glad to hear a lot of you like the count down chain, Megan loves doing it.

Megan loves playing with older and younger kids (I have nicknamed her Mommy Megan) since she likes to "take care" of the little ones in our playgroup.

Just paid off the cruise (FINALLY) yesterday and made excursions ressies for DH Jim for parasailing on Castaway and the Tulum Ruins on Cozumel (anyone else going to Tulum?) Megan is too young for that tour, so we might stay on board or was thinking of doing the Sea Lion discovery (anyone going to that?). Will do our own thing for Grand Caymen and Key West, but will also be renewing our vows there at sunset.

Megan is so excited about her formal dress, got all the accessories to go with it.

I will try to post a photo, or might just e-mail.

Lisa

Lisa....How exciting to be renewing your vows! Did you book thru DCL?
We just booked Ron Jons....not a bad price!!Especially with all that the resort has.Who else will be staying here??__maria

We will be staying at Ron Jons. DH, myself and our DD age 5.

We're driving from Atlanta, and imagine we'll get to the hotel around 2:00.

Let's hook up!
:)

No, it was way too expensive, found a company through the internet. They will pick us up at the boat, the ceremony, flowers for the three of us, photos and then return us to the boat ($250) we hope to do it at sunset and it will be on one of the beaches.

We just celebrated our 7th last month, but Megan wants to be a flower girl in the worst way, so thought this would be a great surprise for her (she doesn't know yet) and a special memory of our trip.

Lisa :earsgirl:

Lisa, that still gives me goosebumps! How exciting!

Hey - did you guys decide what to do about dinner? Is your plans to still only eat in the restaurants one or two nights? Are you doing late seating?

I am getting excited about the renewal too!!

We are on the wait list for early, I will call DCL about 30 days out to check on it.
Depending on our rotation I have told Jim would like to eat the first three nights and the last two, but will give up Monday night if its in Parrot Cay since I really want to do the other two more. Not sure about doing Palo's yet.

Lisa:earsgirl:

What is everyone thinking about the night for Palo's? We're doing the REAS, so I need to decide soon and I have no idea when the best time would be. Any thoughts?
