!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

We have a large, med and carry on size suitcase as well as a duffle and garmet bag, along with the misc tote bags etc. I always over pack..even though I realize this I just can't bring myself to pack less.

:confused3

I like the idea of sticking it on and then no worries. After 3 days just put another one behind your other ear and you are all set. We always put the patches on before we board the ship. If you wait and get sick it is much harder to feel better then not allowing yourself to get to that point to start with. We also have used Meclizene (sp) which works wonderful also. :cool1:

Heather - I have bracelets left that I'm bringing with me. I'll be the tall one (I'm 6'2") with glasses. Definitely join the party!

Lisa

Lisa,

Sorry, I should have referred Heather to you regarding the bracelets. I just wanted her to know (and anyone else for that matter that's reading the board) that it wasn't an exclusive party.

I get so excited every morning when I realize it is only a few more sleeps till we sail. I can't wait to hear that horn blow......I actually managed to get a few things in a suitcase last night...still have tons to do but it was a start. Cya all real soon :teeth:

We have 2 lg & 1 med suitcase, a camera bag, duffel bag & the kids have 2 small duffels with things in it for them to do.

Do we actually change time zones while on the ship? If so, when and how is it handled? Do the dining times actually change according to time zone? Or am I totally out in left field on this one?

Can't wait to cruise. :goodvibes

Well now I know the cruise is close! I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of things that I will need but forgot to pack. I hope this doesn't continue or I am going to be exhausted by Friday.

My brain is in overdrive and everytime I try to sleep like you I end up thinking about all the things I still need to do and things I am going to do while sailing....I have ocean waves playing and that does not even help....I will sleep like a baby the first night we are on the ship. :cool1:

gydell, that's exactly the type of thing I would do. My DH always makes fun of my choice of "sleep time" to worry about things. Fortunately it hasn't happened yet but I think that's cause I'm so exhausted. Surely I'll be awake scribbling on the notepad beside my bed any night soon - what not to forget. I need this getaway so bad... and it's very cold here this morning -7 Celcius...bring on the sunshine. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hi,

I 'm packing 3 rolling suit case and one garmet bag. I have a small carry on for each one of us. I always over pack . When I travel with our race team they know who to come and see when they need something. My husband always said I can pack anything but I have to carry the bags. He isn't coming with, so I get all the bags.

Well so far we have 3 rolling bags packed sm med and LG but we still have more stuff that needs packed AND we have no more rolling bags so its off to the store to buy some more luggage:faint::crazy2:

Last year, we started on Eastern time. The first night, we turned the clocks ahead by 1 hour (Atlantic time). We remained on that time until I believe the last night (this part I may be wrong about - the navigators on line don't indicate which night we turn them back). It may have been before we got to Castaway Cay since I believe the Bahamas are Eastern time (not sure). They will leave a note on your bed when they turn it down on the nights we need to change the clocks.

As for dinner, whatever time zone we are on, that's what time dinner is. Therefore, the first night you'll have dinner at lets say 6:00 p.m. Eastern. The next night, you'll have dinner at 6:00 p.m. Atlantic (ship time) which is actually 5:00 p.m. EST. Now if you live in the midwest like we do, and you end up with that 5:30 dinner slot, by the second night you are eating at 3:30 p.m. CST. A little early if you can keep on the time back home. We, however, never can keep on that time.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

Call us packrats cuz the two of us are bringing (subject to change):

1) 28" rolling floral tapestry
2) 25" rolling floral tapestry
3) small rolling carry-on floral tapestry for beer, etc.
4) garment bag (not floral tapestry and does not match)
5) duffle (floral tapestry)
6) laptop (not floral tapestry, but matches)

I am wearing black dress slacks and a glitz n' glam, very sparkly sweater set that was inexpensive and is gorgeous. You won't miss me. For Palo, I am wearing a black velvet dress. I have lost weight and am fit as a fiddle and I am going to flaunt my hard work.

We're about 70% packed. And I cleaned my closet too! I now have 3 bags of clothes to go to Good Will. Yesterday, I also found that I don't fit into any of my suits! :scared1: I had to run out and buy a new suit yesterday and still have to run out and get a couple of dress shirts today!

Looks like we will have 1 Large suitcase, a HUGE duffel bag with wheels (hockey sports bag...it's really huge), two rolling "carry ons", a large backpack, and a small garmet bag with my suit and my wife's formal dress.

We're driving, so we don't have to worry about airline check in.

Stroller question: We have a 3 and 5 YO....we have a huge double stroller we take to WDW, but are not taking it with us this time. Does DCL have dual strollers for loan, or only single? I do have a backpack for my 3 YO, and could get the single stroller (or take our own single). Any suggestions about double or single umbrella strollers I could buy for a reasonable price?

I'm just afraid that the kids will get tired when we are doing the See & Sea Tour at St. Maartan, or the Tramway tour, etc.

We are also hitting Animal Kingdom and WDW the day we get back, so I wouldn't mind having a lightweight stroller to fit both kids if possible.

I don't know if DCL has a double stroller, but they do have single strollers. Schools are closed up here today because of ice. Oldest DD is not happy about missing school today, she realy likes kindergarden.

Thanks. I'm not missing the snow and ice.....just let DD know that in 4 days, she will not have to worry about snow, and will be enjoying the sun!

For formal night what are most of the adults wearing? :confused3

DS and myself are wearing tuxes. :groom: DW will be wearing a different dress each of the formal nights.

For Palo, I will be wearing a sport coat and tie.

Thanks Jeff. If I were to guess, I think they would.

Craig

Craig,

I was downtown today so I decided to take a little drive.

AirTran does NOT have a curb side check-in counter at Mitchell. The other airlines had the stands, but no one was tending them when I drove past at about 10:30 a.m. The airport itself was very dead.

Just so you know when you go there, AirTrans check in is to the far north end (left as you are entering from the parking structure). Their gates, however, are to the far south end, the same concourse that Northwest (at least they were in October. No planes were in when I drove past). The one benefit of going out of that concourse is that security isn't as crazy as the Midwest concourse.
