That is wonderful! I decided that since we have a Palo dinner ressie, we don't need to do both. Just frees it up for someone else!! Enjoy!

Oh yeah - Go 'Canes #1 in the East (and mayhap overall - can't keep up). Ergo "Caniac". So how's that for hockey, anyone!

We had to cancel our Palo dinner since I couldn't get Flounder Reef at the same time. There were no other ressies, so I figured we wouldn't be able to go. This works out great.....got 3 hours of Flounder Reef for our 3YO and we will drop our 5YO at Oceaneers Club. Gives us the Adult time we wanted. Thanks Again!

Is there no one out there cheering for our Broncos. Come on we need a few :cheer2: It's been a long time since we have gone this far!

GO BRONCOS!!!!!!

Sandie,

Your Broncos beat our Packers the last time we were in the Superbowl. Granted it was about 8 years ago, but still leaves a bad taste.

I'm not much of a Steelers fan either.

I will start chearing :cheer2: for the team that is losing at the end of the 1st or 2nd quarter. I like the underdogs. Or I start cheering for the team that has less fans watching it (DW hates when I do that).

I remember when we were in Playa del Carmen in Jan 1999 and the Vikings were in the NFC Championship against the Falcons. There were a lot of Vikings fans in the bar watching the game. DW and I were up there to get a drink and check the score. Now being Packer fans, we definitely don't like the Vikings. So we sat at the bar and cheered for the Falcons. We were the only ones there. Well when the Falcons came back in that game and then forced overtime, we left. DW didn't want to stay there with the angry Viking fans. We went back to the pool and then we started seeing the Viking fans all leaving the bar - QUIETLY. I'm like, "there is no way the Falcons won that game". I ran to the room to check the score, and sure enough they did. DW and I still laugh about it to this day.

So you may have me cheering for your Broncos on the boat.

Packing is very overwhelming, every time I start, I find more stuff I think I need and end up going shopping. I need to get on my vacation so I stop spending $$$$$$$$$.

:rotfl2: Yeah. Can you tell that to my DW? Go on the cruise to stop spending money. :rotfl2:

This must be your first DCL cruise.

BTW, I'm not talking about them back dooring expenses on your account, I'm talking about buying that extra picture because you have to have it, or getting something in the ports.

Why did you cancel?

BTW, That is the day we're going to be doing our. It seems to be the best day to shoot for. Especially if you get the PLA rotation. Also, if you have little kids, it usually is the safe day to book it when you don't know your rotation. They tend to put kids in AP on the first night. With a little older kids they usually start you in PC. Since you go for your character breakfast the morning after you go to AP, you wouldn't have it on Monday unless you have the LAP rotation. That would be Lumiere's on the first night. They usually put the people with no kids or teenagers in there on the first night.

Now this is not for certain, and I believe it also depends on when you book, but it is just a rule of thumb.

Sorry, didn't read this post before I posted the one above.

I think you should look at doing the brunch when you get on board. It is a great experience. It is not at all like dinner. Also, you will have so much food you won't want any lunch that day.

Those are scary words in my house right now. It looks like a tornado has entered the bedroom and run the other way. I tried all of my formal/semi-formal stuff on last night trying to at least decide what I am going to take for that. I am hoping to make great strides this evening and try to get at least an idea of the other clothing items I am bringing. OOOHHHHH the STRESS....I can't wait to have a drink in my hand and a dance with the Mouse! :cutie:

Hi,

I cheering for Steelers and Carolina because I have the most fantasy players on those teams. It's hard to cheer for the Steelers being a Buffalo Bills Fan.

I'm right there with you in "packing purgatory". My 3 year old keeps throwing things into the bags (we have the LLBean Hawaiian print duffels - can't miss those!). Rather than screwing up everything, I gave him his own bag to pack - so far he has about a dozen stuffed animals and a baseball hat! :rotfl:
I put all the kids stuff into individual ziploc bags. How sick am I.... But that way, there is no trying to figure out what matches, running out of clothes, etc. Each child has a bag with his/her name and the day so they can just dress themselves!

I have to packing to night. When I get out of work. I gave my DDs laundry basket to pack. Then I will go though and pack the suit case. They are a big help. This day off gives them all day to get things out. I can't wait to see what they want to pack. Since I spend every weekend at swim meets. I'm running late.

Packing for me this year is a pain because I am putting a little from everyone in all different bags. I have never lost, even temporally, a piece of luggage in many many way too may years of traveling until last year.
I always check our baggage claim tickets for this very reason because they have been tagged incorrectly in the past but last year we were running late and I forgot. ALL OF OUR BAGS were tagged under another name and sent to Las Vegas. We were headed to WDW. Needless to say, they could not find our bags for almost 48 hours. I had nothing, not even a comb!
I was at Walmart at 1AM in a really bad part of town. (I got lost on the way to the nice Walmart). It was still a good vacation but a very stressful couple of days to start.
SO....... CHECK YOUR BAGGAGE CLAIM TAGS VERY CAREFULLY!!!!
And, even though it is a pain they really recommend that you separate your families clothing just in case one or two bags disappear.

The only bag I have packed is a big half full duffle bag full of more empty bags. I have nothing else packed and I already know that I an overpacking. I just can't help it.
:confused3

I did a lot yesterday, but it seems like we have so much stuff!! Having to pack stuff for dinner every night, then day clothes, then clothes to go with the swim suits...... I am worried that I have too much, but I'm not sure what I can take out??? Any advice from the cruise vets on packing light or what you usually have too much of? or should I just deal with hauling all of the extra suitcases - maybe I won't run out of clothes or have to do laundry!! Anyone packing princess costumes for their DD's? Can that be a dinner outfit?

BTW, we've never gone away for a week with the kids except for our beach week cottage vacations. We drive there and don't really worry about packing too much - whatever fits in the back of the minivan can go!! Plus, you don't have to pack dinner outfits for every night.

Lisa - you are making me sick......way too organized with your ziploc baggies there!!!! :) The kids got the bracelets...!! Thanks. I will pay you on the cruise if that is ok.

DW and I use to always overpack. What I have done now is let her pack the suitcases and then let them sit a day. Then I have her go back and take out 1/3 to 1/2. You will have a clearer mind after you get a nights sleep. Really think about what you NEED. On our first cruise, we had a little overpacking, but not too bad. We planned on doing the laundry on Monday last year (earlier in the cruise is better) and that happened to be the 1/2 point in our trip (arrived in WDW 3 nights before the cruise).

As to Rachel's request on how to pack light, here are a couple of things to remember.

1. You only need 2 swimsuits. One can dry while you wear the other one.

2. You don't need as many "day" clothes as you think. The only days you will need something for are the day you get on the boat, St. Maarten and St. Thomas, and the day you get off the boat. The 3 sea days are pool days. Put your swimsuit on and a t-shirt and go up to Topsiders for breakfast and then to the pools. As with the swimsuits, you probably only need 2 t-shirts. Also, Castaway Cay is like a pool day. No need for "day" clothes.

3. Plan a color scheme. Go with 2 colors that are interchangeable. I am going with Blue and Tan. Sometimes I go with Black and Tan or Black and Grey. Tops and bottoms can be worn with the other. I only need to pack one pair of dress shoes. My sport coat will go with both.
Granted I'm a man, and women like to not be seen in the same thing more than once (and in some spots we've vacationed, that even included their swimsuit), but if you are looking to cut down the amount of luggage, some sacrifices need to be made.

We've been on about 20 trips now with DS (about 4 a year) and we've learned to cut down quite a bit from the first trip. I remember the first trip. He was 3 1/2 months old and we went to Puerto Vallarta. DW packed a whole suit case of bottled water for his formula. Come to find out that Coke bottles the water you can buy in the resort. Man that was some heavy luggage.

I was thinking about all of the moms and dads packing for not only themselves, but little ones. It is difficult enough for just Jim and I. I think we are 75% there and have the hardest part behind us...picking out the clothes. All we need to do is gather last minute things and put it all in the floral tapestry luggage. I would bet you it took me 3 hours to pick and choose and I was one pooped pup when I was done. It had to get done this weekend because we will be working long days just to be able to get out this joint. It never fails.

We are about 50% packed, just need to add the clothes. Which are all picked out & just waiting to be packed. I need to iron a few shirts tonight. The kids bags (to keep them happy on the plane) are all ready. I printed some coloring pages for them from DCL.
Bored at work, only 2 1/2 more days of it this week. I had to show some how to do my job, (customer service at a furniture mfg) so I am just supervising them. It is a good thing I have a computer at work to keep up with the DIS boards.
I agree with what Jeff said about packing. You don't need as much day clothes as you think. On our first cruise I over packed. I brought home about 3 outfits each that were never even worn. My kids lived at the pools on sea days.
