I can't believe that the masseuse threw up while she was have a massage. Ugh! I feel terrible for both of them... I just hope that the kids aren't too affected by it - they don't have the strongest of stomachs! :crazy2:

I almost lost it just reading about the massage incident. :crazy2:

We figure we could just go swimming and relax at the hotel (POFQ) before a day at the parks on Friday. We will then drive to port early on Saturday.Jeff

We are also staying at POFQ but just on Friday night should get there between 1-2pm figure we will probably head to DTD and Disney Quest I saw somewhere there is a boat that will take you to DTD from the hotel is that correct?

That is correct and that is one of the many charms of that hotel and the other one we will always know as Dixie Landings.

Crystal, it can get rather chilly on the ferry in the evening and a jacket feels mighty good. The ferry stops at POR and POFQ. Enjoy!!!

Whew - lots of board activity the last few days! Took a while to catch up on all the posts! I'm Rachel (36) travelling with DH Brant (39) and kids Chris (7) and Katie(5). We're from VA where I am an engineer with the City of Portsmouth (yes - I got to watch the Magic across the river in drydock out my window last October) and DH is an administrator a the local Medical School. I love to scrapbook and hang out with the kids. DH is a sports nut and major Virginia Tech Hokie fan......the last few weeks have been rough.

My big news todaay is that I'm CANCER-FREE!!! We were supposed to cruise in November but had to move the cruise after I got diagnosed and then was going thru treatments for a few months. I finished chemo and then radiation in December and just got my post-treatment scan results today. We are so relieved and thankful. What a truly relaxing and celebratory cruise we are going to have!!! I will be the one with REALLY short hair - sorta like Demi Moore and Sharon Stone sported for a while - wish I could get the body to go with the hairdo!

Can't wait to get on board....really gotta get that packing underway!

Rachel, we have some things in common here, I believe. My DH and I work for a civil engineering firm of which hubby is a principal owner. I am a senior drafting tech for the firm. Our family has been up the cancer trail ourselves. My wonderful mom was diagnosed with breast and lung cancer this past September and that is one of the reasons for this cruise...to get away from it all for a week. She is doing wonderfully now and is in great spirits.

How wonderful to have such great news before your cruise and I look forward to meeting you! See ya real soon!!

WOW!!! What great news! Congratulations! :cool1:

:dancer:

We will be flying out of Philly to Orlando... on Friday the 20th and spending the night at the Radisson at the Port. Then taking the shuttle to the Disney ship on the Saturday morning. My DH doesn't travel well on airplanes. I made the flight a day earlier, to make for a more enjoyable vacation.

Congrats to you!! Can't wait to see you on the cruise!!!!! Hope you stay cancer free forever! Celebrate and have a Disney Magical Time on your cruise!!! :cool1: "Cancer Free" are the two best words in the world to hear!!!!!

The Color of The Carribean Sea!!!!

I'm daydreaming this AM! My daughter and I went to AC Moore last night and bought black t shirts.... She ripped and cut hers so the red shirt can be seen from underneath. She also made a pirate necklace with a big teardrop ruby. I must say it looks very good. Unfortantely... LOL she also got tshirts for her dad ... she placed him in black and white with skull and crossbones. LOL  I have been told to wear black and bright teal. Afterall must do what the designer tells me to wear LOL ::MinnieMo She actually came up with a good plan so it's not too bad. So I don't mind lol. Hate going through those plans where you look really hideous BUT!!! the kid is happy and all smiley. lol

If my kids were still young I think I would have planned little pirate chest for them to open each day. Inside place a pirate trinket of some sort, like skeletons or eyepatches. Even gummy sharks!!!! Yikes. Which would have been fun for me to do.... but not ....they are all grown up. So making the tshirts last night was alot of fun. I was glad I gave Mallory full authority over the making of them. Really got her excited about the cruise!!! Told her she had to name her necklace. Because we are all going to be in black with various colored accessories I told her we should name ourselves the Pirates of the Black Sea. lol :goodvibes Hey that's not too bad MOM! See I can come up with a good idea too lol. :wizard: Pixie dust on Mom!!!

Rachel - that's awesome about your health. Now you can go have a great time!

Were you the one who posted the pic of the ship in dry dock? I remember you saying you could see it. I'm excited to see it in person - I think the kids will be totally overwhelmed by its size.

My DH is the same as Brant - very disappointed in Vick right now  - but Tech handled it well! We're still flying our Hokie flag!

Tell Chris thanks for the e-mail, Liam is excited to meet him!

A week from today we'll be getting ready! Yeah! We fly down Friday afternoon and stay the night at the Hyatt. Since we don't get in until 8 or so, it just seemed convenient to go right upstairs. Not that anyone will be sleeping much! :hyper: Then we'll have a van take us in the AM.

Congrats Rachel ! I'm a member a of a relay for life team. We have 8 female members and raise between $8,000. - $10,000. every year. It's a cause that important to my family.

Rachel - Congrats on being cancer free. I know it is a big relief to you and your family. My sister has been battling cancer off and on for about 10 years now. Can't wait to meet you and your family and everyone else on the board! We are staying at the Radisson at the port in Friday nite. Our flight arrives MCO at 1:30 so hopefully we will be at the hotel around 3:30. We have friends that live nearby that we haven't seen in a couple of months so we will be spending some time with them that afternoon but will be back at the hotel by 7:30 at the latest so my DGS can get a good nights sleep. If anyone wants to meet around 7:45 or 8:00 in the lobby let me know. We are supposed to be on the first shuttle to the port the next morning. I'll be looking for green bracelets!

Scubabeck - We are also flying out of Philly on Friday. We have an 11:30 am flight on United/U.S. Air...Will we cross paths?

Kelley
