Thanks for all of the lists. It is nice to be traveling with organized people!

Who said we're organized? :rotfl2:

I haven't filled out my paperwork, packed or done anything except plan the trip thus far. :scared1: Going to be a very busy and crazy weekend at our house.

Hey, we have only 10 days until the boat sails with us on it.

We leave for FL in only 8 days. :cool1:

I hope it gets bitter cold here in the next few days. :cold: I like it really cold before we go on vacation. Makes vacation feel that much better. But then again, can't get much better than sailing on the MAGIC.

Jeff

The more organized I try to be the more of a disaster I make. I started packing last weekend (since we have DS's party this weekend) but I didn't actually "pack" anything. :rotfl: :rotfl: Didn't want it to get too wrinkled. So my home office is covered in clothes and suitcases :scared1: I've been working from my livingroom this week. I did better getting organized when I only had 5 days to do it. Only 8 days until WDW for us!

I saw the list and decide I would give a little information to see what we have in common with others. We will be on deck 10 to meet everyone at sail off time! YIPPEEE! So here's a little bit about us.

Becky (that's me!) I'm 41 and holding until 2-21-06 at which point I'll be in denial of growing old lol. I love to travel, scrapbook, photograghy and scuba diving or snorkeling, reading and going back to school and taking various classes. Also My husband (John) and I are big time ATV riders and belong to Tower City Trail Riders. We also love camping! So we combine the two sports together. I also live in Lancaster and am a Barnstomers Fan!!!! Go Barnstormers. :thewave:

John (my hubby) is 42 LOL He also like the Barnstormers... But is a major Philly Fan ... Eagles and Phillies. He loves his ATV! It's Yellow (YUCK!) He likes fishing and boating. The only beach so far he's likes going to is Flordia on Anna Maria Island. Hopefully he will be impressed with the beaches of the Carribean.! He does not want to dress up as a pirate!!! phooie!

Mallory (17 DD) She actually likes hanging out with us. She rides ATV also but not really big on riding anymore. She enjoys camping and scrapbooking. READS ALOT OF BOOKS! mostly romance but she does read other books. She is (to me) a very good artist. She will be going to college for interior design. She is not sure what she would like to do for Pirate night. She is talking about designing her own t-shirt. She is also a A student.

We have a son but he is 21 and out on his own.

Hope that gives a bit of conversation starters for the meeting. Can't wait to see everyone!!! ONLY 10 days to go!!! :thewave: :thewave: :rockband:

Hi Becky, nice to meet you-

I am Sandy, DH is Christopher (very shy, not thrilled that I am making him wear a bracelet), DD Tori, and DS Ian. I love all things Disney so much so that I made it my job to help others experience the magic. The kids are just as crazy as I am, DH thinks we are all off our rockers. I think he secretly enjoys it though :) See everyone on the 21st!

I started washing the more dressy clothes that I was going to bring (yes, I do the wash) and was going to iron my shirts. Then I thought :scratchin , why bother, they will all get wrinkled in the suitcase. They say "wrinkle free", but they still come out wrinkly (sp?) after several days in the suitcase. :confused3

So if you're looking for me early in the cruise, I will be the one ironing my shirts in the laundry room.

Jeff

ok Jeff, now I can actually give you a suggestion: send them out just to be pressed. Friends of ours cruised last year and sent out anything that needed to be pressed the first night. They had it back the next morning and for $30-40 all their clothes were ready to go for the rest of the trip. I think I read the prices for pressing on the posts somewhere, but can't remember. I think I may do this with a few of our dressier clothes. Remember - you're on vacation! :wizard: ::yes::

We send our formal stuff out to be pressed the first night too. I even worked $ into our budget this year to send some laundry out mid-cruise. I didn't like doing laundry on our last cruise. :sad2:

I know what you mean Jeff, but living in the Phoenix area that is not going to happen. It has been in the mid to upper 70's here. What happend to winter?? I wanted to to be at least a little cold so vacation was nice and warm! Oh well, I am just excited to go.

I don't have a bracelet, but I am planning on meeting everone. Can't wait to meet all of you.

My name is Kelly and I am traveling with my DH Ernie and my Aunt Pam and Uncle Fred. With them I will be bringing my DN Katie (10) and another neice Britteny (12). I like Sandy love Disney as well as other types of travel that I just got into the business. I have just about 2 yrs under my belt. I currently live in Red Lion, PA just above the Mason Dixon line. My Aunt and her family are from Maryland. Needless to say we have a bunch of Disney nuts in the family. My husband is the only one that is not a total Disney freak but he enjoys the ride..haha. I am looking forward to meeting everyone on the 21st. :hyper2:

Lets see my name is Crystal and I am 33 but will turn 34 on the 30th of this month. I am originally from Indiana and I am a SAHM and also Scrapbooker. DH is Alan(33) and is originally from Texas and is in the USAF(14 yrs now) stationed at the Pentagon there for we currently live in VA. In our 11 years of marriage we have spent 3 years in Italy, 5 1/2 yrs. in Illionis and 2 years and 5 months so far in VA with possibly 4yrs and 7 months longer if he gets a job for the White House. We have 2 children Jeri (DD9) who will turn 10 on Feb, 7th and a DS Alan(7) we also have 2 dogs and 2 cats who will miss us TERRIBLY while we are cruising. I also can not wait to meet everyone and hope the next 9 days FLY by....

It's nice to see everyone posting something about themselves!

I'm Lisa (35), DH is Frank (39), Kyleigh (7), Liam (5) and Kieran (3). My parents, Jean and Trevor, are traveling with us. They live near Los Angeles and we are in VA, outside Washington DC. We booked this cruise 13 months ago - a gift from my parents. We wanted to wait until Kieran was 3 to go in the Kids' club and his birthday was on 1/4! :)

We're in a cat. 2 stateroom and I'd like to invite you all to come for a "reception/party/get-together" (sorry, no grand piano to tinker with though). I'm not sure when though. Any suggestions? Maybe on Sunday sometime?

Lisa

Jeff have you tried Downy's Wrinkle Releaser? You spray it on, tug and smooth the item. Hang to dry. Wish I could use it on my face! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
The old trick of hanging your clothes in the bathroom, closing the door and turning the shower to hot helps release wrinkles too. Life is too short to be in the laundry room on a cruise :( I will be sending my stuff out too. ;)
crazy4M I say go with the kilt too. :cool1: What tartan are you?
DH Trevor is 58 works in the Aerospace business and likes gardening, and travel. I am (Jean) 57 and like the same! We are CRAZY :worship: about our three :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: grandkids. and that is why they get to come on this cruise with Nanna and Pop Pop!

Love your kid's names!

I'm Kevin (39..will be 40 in April), DW is Terry (40), DS1 is Quinn (5), and DS2 is Christopher (3). We were expecting both kids to be in the Oceaneer's Club, but Christopher hasn't completed his potty training yet, so he will end up in the Flounder's Reef 2-3 hours on most days.

This is our first cruise! We're in a Cat 11 for this one. Terry and I have also reserved the DVC members cruise for October without the kids in a Category 7.

We're originally from New Jersey and moved to Georgia a little less than 2 years ago. My parents live in Florida, so we ended up buying into the DVC last year and love it!

Can't wait to meet you all!

Jeff - If we are meeting at 4:30 are we going to miss the sail away party? I don't want to miss anything!

I think I've pretty much got DH convinced about wearing his kilt. He just doesn't get too many opportunities to wear it so why not. It's the Irish National Tartan. Needless to say he wears it when we have our big St. Patrick's day party.

So much to do, so little time left. I'm getting very excited. We have to remember to go and vote this weekend (big federal election here in Canada) as we will be cruising on election day. Hope CNN provides some coverage so we can see the results on the ship or we'll just check online .... or I might be too busy having FUN.

Just finished two more magnetic door signs. :flower3:

gydell,

I didn't set the time. I just was reiterating what was posted by other DISers a while back.

I believe they wanted to do it during the sail away party on deck 10 (overlooking the party) on the Starboard side (so we can see the CM's at port waving goodbye).

I'll try to see if I can find the original post.

I propose we meet on the port side of Deck 10, over looking the Goofy Pool, just before the start of the sailaway party, for our DIS meet.

Counter Proposal!

What about Starboard side? That is the side that overlooks the terminal, so we can wave to the CMs on the dock as we leave.

sandym said:
I second the vote for starboard.

I'm easy......Starboards fine with me......

These posts are from 12/17/05 (page 49).

If this is not what is still planned, then we better discuss when and where before late next week.

There are just us two cruising...me (47) and DH (49). Jim and I have two grown kids who are both married and we have one awesome 11 month granddaughter. Our entire family thrives on anything Disney and our kids have taken many trips to WDW. Our DD was in the WDW College program and worked at Peco's Bills that summer. This cruise started as a simple trip, but has mushroomed into something I had never imagined. Jim and I work at the same office and in fact, he is my boss. We have had this arrangement for years and it works great for us. Naturally, we are together all of the time and we are working fast and furious to get everything done before we leave. This photo is from Christmas so everyone will recognize us on board. Scary...aren't we? See ya all real soon!!!!

Kevin,

Our DS is also a young 3 year old who is not potty trained. :scared1: Do you know whether Flounders accepts children over 3? I was under the impression that the nursery was only for children under 3. Thanks for the info.
