PiperG,

Did you get upgraded from your Cat 6 to a Cat 4? You didn't post the good news.

Congrats.

Jeff

HMoon here, PiperG’s other half. We didn’t post our upgrade last week based on events at home. We saw we were upgraded Thursday night and were very excited. However Friday morning on the way to work someone slid through a stop sign on an icy crossroad right in front of DW’s car. DW was going about 50 mph and couldn’t avoid the collision. DW was banged up and bruised but OK and seems to have almost recovered. The car on the other hand is a goner. So not only does DW get a cruise in January but also a new car, what a deal. Looking forward to seeing everyone in slightly over 3 weeks.

BTW - I'm told I always have an opinion with out ever posting so I figured I should post. :confused3

HMoon/PiperG,

Sorry to hear about the accident. Hopefully Piper is feeling much better.

Don't want to go through what she did to get a new car, but a car and the cruise in one month, pretty lucky lady.

How did I miss the post about who wants bracelets?? I wanted to order some for my family. Is it too late? If not, I need 1 large, 1 medium, and 2 smalls.

Cari
Cari - I don't have any of the mediums left (we had to order them in lots of 20) but I have children and large sizes. Send me a private message with your mailing address and I'll send them out!

Lisa

Morning! I'm packaging the bracelets up for mailing. The cost was $1 for each bracelet. We ordered 80 total so it was $8 shipping, thus the cost per bracelet is $1.10 plus shipping which should be minimal (like $.37-.74 for most of them - they are light). You can pay me by check, cash or paypal - whichever is easiest. And I do not mind if it is in person on the ship!

Lisa

HMoon - so sorry to hear about Piper's accident. I'm glad to hear that she wasn't seriously hurt but how scary! Tell her to take care and get ready to relax on the ship!

Lisa

Okay - I feel kind of silly asking this so far into this.... but what is GTY when you are talking about cabins?

And when you get your docs - what does it include? The forms we have to fill out and the same info from the website?

Lisa

Lisa,

GTY means Guaranteed. You are basically guaranteed a room in at least the category you booked (i.e. book GTY 8, you'll get an 8 or better).

Your room is not assigned at the time of booking. You will get your room number later.

Hope that clarifies it.

Lisa,

Don't remember everything, but you get the room charge paperwork, the luggage tags, bus transfer vouchers if neeeded (you can also use them to take the bus if you decide you wanted to. they'd just charge your account). I can't remember what else was in there. I looked for our old docs, but couldn't readily find them. (DW probably has it in her scrapbook stuff)

Maybe someone who received theirs already can post what all needs to be completed.

Our paperwork came with luggage tags (2 per person) Immigration Arrival Card forms for the Bahamas to fill out, Then the booklet thingy that has all our info for hotel, cruise, transfers. The cruise contract page to sign, plus the charge form to fill out and the embarkation-departure form to fill out.

I just received documents today for a client going on the Wonder and it came in a regular envelope. What happened to the cute little boxes they used for the documents....these really look cheap..I am very dissapointed in this. :guilty:

Didn't they have the new plastic sleeve with the shiny red writing? I have found that the new one's ship better. They also started sending only one booklet for the whole family instead of one for each person.

Jeff, you are correct. Even Piper's boss told her there are easer ways to get a new car.

I can tell you she still had her sense of humor after the crash. When I arrived there was glass and car parts everywhere. And of coarse everything in the car was all topsy turvy. However sitting next to the back of the car was her purse, laptop and a bottle of wine she was taking to a colleague for a Christmas present. Not her first comment but one of the firsts was ‘the wine survived’.

Now I am really confused. I guess I will wait and see what the next ones look like. I knew they decreased the amount they sent but I just thought this was not nearly as nice as before.

:umbrella:

It is probably a good thing "the wine survived". The smell of wine in a car involved in a crash would have probably opened up a whole other can of worms.

You know, if she has a good doctor, maybe she can somehow get her status changed to "needing assistance". Then you can board in Group 1 at port.

(Hope everyone knows I'm just kidding about this. No need to flame me over trying to get priority boarding for a non-handicapped person. It was a joke. The people who are handicapped need the extra time, and I do not condone anyone trying to pretend to be in that condition in order to board early. That should preempt and cover it.)

Glad to hear that Piper is OK. I wrecked my car 3 years ago and had to get a new car. Our kids are little and had never experienced getting a new car. So earlier this year when we started test driving for a new minivan, the kids kept asking if I would please wreck my car so we could get a minivan with a DVD :rotfl2:

Speaking of documents, we are waiting for our passports. I have birth certificates for everyone except my husband. I am hoping that I don't have to expedite a birth certificate copy for him, but we are getting close and I wish the passports would arrive......

Jeff (or anyone else?),

Now that you raised this it brings a question to mind for me. I have a heart/lung condition and would have a hard time standing and waiting for a long period of time to board. Are there places to sit? If there are I don't mind the wait at all. If not, how long a wait might it be? We have booked the 10:30 shuttle from the Radisson.

Also, I was wondering if previous cruisers could tell me how long/far a walk it is from ship to Stingray Encounter on Castaway Cay? I'd like to try this but I have to guage the whole physical activity. Although it says "mild" for the excursion, is the walk to get there going to wear me out? any experiences?

I appreciate any advice. I'm one of those people who hates asking for help so sometimes I push myself. If I know things ahead it helps to plan. :sunny:

Received our docs this afternoon. DW is currently upstairs doing the document dance. :cheer2:  :cool1:

Stay away from the board for a while and it seems alot happens. Piper - sorry about the wreck but glad to hear everything except the car is ok. My docs have not arrived but going through a TA I'm sure I'll be the last to receive them. I looked at the recent navigators, does anyone know how much they change from week to week?
