!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

If you saw my house you would understand why I start so early. We leave town on the 2nd and do not want to come back and have to do it. I put up 14 trees this year and every room is decorated fully. I love Christmas time so there is garland and lights everywhere. Since I went to DW this year I did not have an open house but normally I do.It takes my about 3 weeks to decorate. When we built our house I had a room in the basement made just for Christmas decorations. Feel free to come help me anytime!

We'll all be enjoying Castaway Cay a month from today. :cool1:  :sunny:

But by the end of the day, reality will set in. It will be our last night  and tomorrow most people will be heading back to the balmy northern states. :cold:

But hey, look at the bright side, this is what's happening a month from today. We still have the whole cruise ahead of us. :cheer2:

You are definitely Christmas Crazy  14 trees?! I thought DW was bad with the 5 or 6 she (or should I say I) put up.

This is DW's favorite holiday. I like how everything looks, but hate the work that goes into it.

As for helping you, don't you live in a warm state? Try going up on an aluminum ladder in single digit temps to take down Christmas lights. :cold:

Just kidding. How far have you gotten? It's Tuesday, are you done yet?

Jeff

I enjoy all of the festive lights and decorations and it seems that when most open their gifts they are ready to box the holiday back up until next year. I try to enjoy it until New Years Day. We put so much effort into gift selection, decorating, baking etc that I think we deserve it!

I am anxious to see the first docs have arrived posting.....shouldn't be long now. :earboy2:

We stay in the Christmas spirit till New Years day. Thats when we start to take the decorations down. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Our DD3 has been saying "I want to go on the Mickey boat". She keeps telling us this and she wants to go NOW. Of course, who can blame her. I want to go NOW also. Anyone else?????

Craig

All my Christmas decorating inside the house is finished by Thanksgiving so we have plenty of time to enjoy them. After a day trip to Orlando on the 2nd for the bowl game then I will really start to prepare for the cruise. At least what I have not already done, clothes and shoes for the 4 year old is the biggest challenge.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Our decorations and trees will stay up until New Year's Day.

Right now I'm working on designing an iron-on transfer for a pillowcase for DD10. I want to leave the pillowcase at guest services on the "Mickey Boat" so that the characters can sign it. Hopefully I can keep it a secret and surprise her.

She is getting excited about the cruise and has even designed a magnetic door sign on her own.

Counting the days.... :cheer2: :sunny:

Are you going to see the Badgers play? They're our only football hope up here in Wisconsin. Auburn should win the game though.

You live in GA, correct? Are you driving down or flying?

Any stops at WDW while in town?

Jeff

:cheer2: Go Badger!!!!! :cheer2:

We are HUGE Auburn fans for several generations so we will be hoping that Auburn wins. We have not missed a game(no matter where it is) in at least 15 years. We will be flying down on the 7am flight returning on the 8:30pm flight. If we had not just returned from Disney then we would be going but this is just a game trip. Are you one of the 6000 badger fans going to the game?

Not going to the game. Wouldn't mind being there, but with the trip coming up in 3 weeks, don't think I can make that work.

I'm surprised there's only 6,000 Badger fans going. I thought they usually send more than that to the bowl games, especially since it is Alvarez' last game.

You must do a lot of traveling in the fall then for the away games.

Don't worry about the outcome, I'm sure Auburn will win.

I found this on another board - it's the coordinates for Castaway Cay on Google Earth.

26 04' 47.45" N
77 32' 15.99" W

Very cool to see it from that vantage point - straight down!

It's the first time I've ever used this - what amazing detail.

So then I tried Port Canaveral and I found one of the ships in port. I think it's
28 24' 48.45" N
80 37' 31.37" W

Hope it works for you. Not too savvy at this. I need to go to bed now!

I believe we are in 6048, which directly opposite 6548 (where we will be in just 35 days!!!). Hopefully we will like that location. Both rooms have a pull down bed, which DS7 really likes.

lbgraves - Just curious what cabin you were in. We are in 8506, which is pretty far forward, but it looked quiet. Were you in that area?

PiperG,

Did you get upgraded from your Cat 6 to a Cat 4? You didn't post the good news.

Congrats.

Jeff

Well everyone, one month from right now (approx 9:30 a.m. ET), we will all be off the boat and our cruise will be over.

Good news, we're only 24 days from sailing. That's 3 weeks and 3 days. Less than 579 hours until we board. Not that anyone on this thread is counting down or anything.

The bracelets arrived before 8 am this morning by FedEx!

They are very green - definitely can't miss them! Unfortunately, the words aren't very prominent. They are not nearly as deeply "engraved" as I had hoped or seen on other bracelets. But they'll identify us readily which is the important thing!

Yippee - it's getting closer.

And I see I stunned you all into silence with my google earth post. :rotfl2:

Sandym, in your opinion, when should we expect our docs? Is DCL still running tight like they were a while ago?

Lisa,

I went out to Google Earth. Very cool, but it isn't clear when zoomed in on CC. You can zoom pretty good on the boat at the dock in PC though. Thanks for posting the coordinates. Looking at CC from the sky, I think they definitely have enough room on the island to put at least a 9 hole golf course. No that would be a great excursion for the island. It would be hard to get tee times I bet.

As for the bracelets, we have over 3 weeks until we cruise. You can take a dark green marker and color in all the letters on all the bracelets by then. :rotfl2: Just kidding. Thanks again for coordinating the purchase. I sent you a PM regarding ours.

Laurie,

My TA told me we should expect our Docs about 14-21 days out. I think we'll see the first posts of Docs received by the end of next week, if not the beginning.

Crazy4m - I am getting a "princess pillowcase" for my daughter at Oriental Trading - here is a link if you want to try to cut and paste it in your browser:

http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcw...llowcase&Ntk=all&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&N=0

Still trying to figure out what to have signed for my son....I'll probably do the photo mat thing because I doubt he will get much out of a t-shirt or pillowcase.

I'm headed to the doctor today and will probably have my post-cancer treatment scans scheduled for early January. I just finished chemo/radiation in December for Hodgkins and am anxiuos to see if I am "all clean"! I really want to know my results before we get on the ship - hopefully it will be a great celebration for the family. We were supposed to cruise Nov. 26th but obviously had to delay the trip. Now if only my hair could grow a little faster...... :goodvibes
