When we travel the DS and I usually get up early (between 5 & 6) and leave the room so the girls can sleep in. Is there anything for a 3.5 year old boy and his dad to do on the ship before 6 am?

My DH and I generally got up about 6 AM and would head up to deck 9 to get coffee (muffins are also put out at that time). Sunrise over the water is worth it. You can also go to the basketball court and toss a ball around, try the ping pong table, and just explore the ship to find hidden Mickeys without interruption. You pretty much have the ship to yourself - a few others are up that early to run or take photos and the crew were getting ready and quite friendly.

You can take a walk around the ship on deck 9 and watch the beautiful sunset. IDK if deck 4 is completely open at that time. You can also walk around the ship & get some great shots without alot of people in them. They also put a tray of donuts up on deck 9 by the drink station before Topsider's opens.

I am an early riser as well! I am looking forward to feeling the ocean breeze and wathcing the sun come up as well!!

Are we allowed to fly a kite off the back of the boat?

Any bars open for a nice early morning Bloody Mary?

Another early riser here. Deck 4 is normally open then (I walked A LOT that early). You could play some shuffleboard there.

I don't think the pools are "open" that early. I remember the Mickey Pool being roped off.

You might be surprised at how well your child sleeps in. They will probably be staying up much later than normal to have fun in the kids' programs. I know my kids all slept late on every trip we've taken.
