Are you an early riser?

DH was blue collar STILL gets up real early!

I was white collar, 6:30 am early enough, to get up, get ready, to go the office.

I wish, I could get up early with him, now that we're retired, but I'm a bear without enough sleep. I'm missing so much.

On a recent 2 day mini vacation, with Dgs; And DH wanting him to see,
Niagara Falls, Ontario in the early hrs. We purposefully got up pre dawn, hit Clifton Hill area, and the Falls, around dawn, while the streets, park, were still deserted. It was amazing! Dgs was only 6 yrs old, he still talks about it.

I love cruise reviews, showing pictures of the decks deserted, first thing in the early morning! :cloud9:

I am but I start work at 7:00am so I get up about 4:30am, around 6:30 on weekends. DD10 and DS8 are up by 7:00am most days. It's just DH that likes to sleep in in our house.

Once the school year starts, I am up at 5:45AM every week day, out the door before 7AM, and at work at 7 (give or take a few minutes).

That does sound amazing! I haven't seen Niagara Falls since I was a small child back in the late 60's. I think I need to go back again.

But to answer your original question, yes I'm an early riser. My alarm is set for 6am but I'm usually awake anyway and still wake up the same time on the weekend. DH is the same way.

Sitting and chatting over early morning coffee is one of our favourite things.

im an early riser and a morning person. always have been. I start work at 730am, so I get up around 6am. Even on weekends im up early-ish.

DH is so sweet, he will save me a cup, or put it on, when he hears I'm up. :goodvibes

During the school year, my alarm is set for 5, though I'm frequently awake before that. It gives me time to get up and dressed, have a cup of tea and play a bit online before I have to rouse the troops.

During summer, our beast of a dog gets me up at 5ish anyway. I'm not good at laying in bed once I'm awake, and don't want to wake anyone with the TV, so I pop down here to the basement and hit the computer.

Aliceacc: Did you receive my personal message/Nfld? I'm not hijacking, I guess as I started this thread! ;)

I am by necessity. I have to be out the house on the way to work by 5:30.
I try to sleep late on vacation.

I am an early riser, but I don't want to leave my room right away because the cat will pounce on me and yowl loudly until he's fed.

But Im not a "loller" (someone who lolls around in bed or in pajamas or sleepshirt after getting out of bed). If I'm up, I'm dressed. And my bed is made. I can't stand crawling into an unmade bed.

I fix myself some coffee or tea, check my e-mail and just relax while DD#2 gets ready for work. (It's her turn to "babysit" me while DH is in Washington working.)

Then I usually have a few chores to do: go to the bank/library/post office/grocery store/wherever. DDs are really taking advantage of my willingness to drive again after five years.

Back when I was working I was up around 4:30 or 5:00, but since my situation has changed big time since I retired I have joined the ranks of late to bed and late to rise. Anymore I may just be going to bed at 4 or 5!

Yes! It's my favorite part of the day!!! I wake up at 5:00 every morning, before I have to start getting the kids up for school. I spend 45 minutes reading, making breakfast, and listening to quiet music.

Once the kids start getting up at 6:00, there goes my quiet for the day!

Downside is that I'm ready for bed by 9:00, and no one else in my family is. Oh well. I wouldn't give up my quiet time for anything!

Oh my! I am getting an anxiety attack just reading of these early morning risers:scared:

I am a true night owl. Evening is my favorite part of the day, in the hour or 2 before sundown. The only way I ever see 5:00 am is if I haven't gone to bed, LOL! Luckily, I have never had a job that required me to be there before 8:00 am with not more than a 30 minute commute. And I had my morning routine down to an art. 30 minutes and out the door. Now I am a SAHM mom, and get up at 7:30 to get the kids out the door. And take a nap most days before they come home.

I have been this way ever since I can remember. But it was exacerbated by 7 years working in a movie theatre. Depending on the shift, days began between 11 and 12 and ended from 10:30- midnightish. I worked part-time during school and full time over breaks. My internal clock has never recovered :-)

Ugh, I hate early mornings, it actually depresses me to be up and about early. Not that I'm tired, just something about the early morning sun, it makes me feel sad, I can't explain it.
I am up around 7:15 during the school year. This summer, my alarm is set for 9:45 every morning so I don't sleep too late. I'm up until 2 or 3am though.
During the school year I'm up til about 12:30-1.
I'm a total night owl.

I have just started to get up earlier than I used to and I like it. But I was soo tired this morning. I think it's catching up to me and I'll need to now adjust my bedtime.

So not a morning person. It has gotten worse with each kid. If I am up by 8:30 that is early. My kids usually hang by themselves for a few hours with cereal bars and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

I am so not an early riser, unless I'm at WDW. Then I seem to be the bouncy perky early morning squirrel I am not at home. I usually sleep until ten unless I have to be somewhere early, like a doctor's appointment.

Once I'm up, I'm up though. Shower and dress. I can't stand being in my pajamas once I'm out of bed for the day. I *do* have special flannel pajama bottoms that I wear in winter, but they're more like my clothes.

I am kind of like this, but thought I was alone! Don't know that I feel sad, but I sure feel weird. But late at night I am very comfortable.

We could hang out, our hours totally match :-)
