Early Registration for runDisney

I'm not hinting about sneaking in during early registration, I was just simply curious as to the checks and balances.

I did call Disney Visa Card services and ask about early registration. The man I spoke with told me during the week prior to public registration that will be a link for Visa cardholders and you need to enter the first 4 numbers of your card to access the link. He said it would be right on RunDisney's website. The time frame which that link is available will not be too long. Can anyone confirm or state otherwise if this is true? I've read there has been no early registration for Visa cardholders.

I just want to sign up certain family members for the shorter races (5K and 10K) before they sell out. Maybe they won't sell out as fast as this year's (which was less than a day, 8 hours for the 10K). The marathon has been one of the last events to sell out so I'm not concerned with that race.

I don't have a Disney Visa so I can't speak from experience on that point. However I do know that no such link exists on the runDisney website for Disney Visa Cardholders. There are also no links on the rD site for AP holders and DVC members. The links are separate and available from our own log ins on their respective member sites. From what I understand, the first 4 digits of your card can be used as a discount for rD registration, this has worked for many people, and not worked for others, so you have a small chance of it working for you.

As for sneaking in early registration when you're not supposed to, like I said, it's an honor code thing. Some people don't care and will post the direct registration links for all to see and allowing many non AP holders and non DVC members early registration. The registration just asks if you are an AP or DVC member, and you click "yes" or "no". They don't make you enter in the barcode or member number or anything to verify that you are indeed eligible for early registration, and if you click "no" it doesn't stop you from registering. They need to do this though to ensure the correct number of early registrations for their statistics.. it totally throws off their numbers when non AP & non DVC register... and it's unfair for those of us that have an AP can't register because early registration sells out *because* of the nonAP that fill up the spaces.

Let me clear up my previous post. Unless things have changed, the early registration link is not generally available. The AP holder logs unto the Passholder website and goes to the link to register. A Passholder would then have to share that link for someone else to register.

Same for DVC - For early registration I have to click on the link on the fb page then it sends me to the DVC page where I have to login to get to the link. I would then have to post the link for others to use.
