Early October?

Our balanced calendar has shifted a little later, our break is the following week - Oct 10-19 and we often joke that our school district should start a WDW tour company be ause it feels like about a third of the district heads to WDW every fall break.

My kids don't have fall break but my DD13, who will be starting high school in the fall has a 4 day weekend the week after yours so we are taking advantage of that and heading there for an extended weekend (14th - 19th). We have been the first week of October before and loved it because the crowds were indeed low, however not sure what to expect when we go this year.

I'm going to plan for moderate crowds. We've been twice in mid September which was great, once the week before President's Day, a little busier than September but fantastic weather. Then there was the time two years ago during Star Wars Weekend. Busier than what we were used to but we had a good plan and did everything we wanted.
Thanks eveyone!

Wow it seems like such a coincidence but I guess I shouldn't be surprised so many of us are from the same area and are going to WDW at the same time JamiLeigh.
I made our reservation last fall but I just moved the dates back 2 days earlier this Wednesday in hopes they'll offer free dining. We are staying at POR and will have to change resorts I'm sure. I don't want to, but certainly will for a $1900 savings!

We're in California and have a fall break. It's a huge state, so things are different all over.

Our school calendar hasn't been released yet, but historically it has been at the end of Sept and in to October. We're planning on Sept 19- Oct 6. It's a year round school, so the breaks are very long.

What the heck is fall break? Ive lived in California most of my life and never heard of a fall break. There is summer break, Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, Easter/Spring break and that's it.

I'm from the west coast and we never had a fall break since our school year started after Labor Day. I just checked the school calendar back there and the schools still start after labor day and go to the second week of June.
