Early October Dining booking issues?

I was able to find a seating at 8:40 on Wednesday, 9.30. Is that too early, do you think?

They don't do seating 50 mins before park open on non Magic Mornings, so my guess is the park will open at 9 that day, or even 8. Not enough time to be done before the park opens.

Take this with a grain of salt as they are just "predicted hours," but Touring Plans believes DL will be open 8am-6pm on 9/30 (MHP at 6pm), with Early Entry at 7 am. DCA's predicted hours are 8a-8p, according to Touring Plans.

Looks like they have opened up more 'inventory' for the ressies as I was able to make one for Oct 1, Oct 2 and Oct 3.

just wanted to see if anyone else is having issues with booking dinning? I can't get any fabtasmic packages to show for first weekend in oct and I tried to book surfs up breakfast at pch on 5th and it's only showing dinner?? Help! Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

You're not doing anything wrong. Other folks have reported having issues with booking dining ADRs for the beginning of October. Most likely, the system is still experiencing technical issues. It's not uncommon for the dining system to be missing things (i.e., the ADR times have not yet been loaded into the system) when a new month appears. Usually, if you give it a few days, it'll get straightened out.

I'm an uber planner and even though I have read you don't have to make reservations 60 days out, I want to! I can make a regular reservation 60 days out, but it's not showing WOC. Trying for Oct. 5th and calendar is only available thru the 3rd.

Thoughts? Do I just need to be patient and check back in a couple days?

Oooh this reminds me I need to make ressies! We will be there the same week. Can you make online reservations just like at WDW? This is our first trip to Disneyland!

The DL reservation system is always a bit wonky. Even when October 5 does show up, sometimes the WOC/Fantasmic dining packages don't load right away so you'll have to keep checking back. Can definitely make making reservations a trying experience!

I just double-checked the Disneyland website:

• Advance reservations for the World of Color Dining Package are highly recommended and can be made up to 60 days prior to your visit.

Here are the timelines I have used to make reservations in the last year (they were correct for this July).
60 days out for ressies on Meals
60 days out for ressies on special entertainment & meal packages (WOC, F!)
30 days out for ressies on tours

I had problems earlier this year with the on-line systems not being relaible. So, I always called when the operators were avaialble (8:00 AM PT) right at the 60 and 30 day marks.

The Plaza is the only place inside the park to have a breakfast 50 mins before rope drop. It is really fun to do first thing in the morning. We are at the turnstyles by at least 10 mins before the park opens for MM and go right to the Plaza when they let everyone in. We eat fairly quickly I guess, but it is not crowded at all first thing, and we are able to meet all the characters, most more than once, take pics with them, and make more than 1 trip to the buffet. I love it there. We are all adults also. It's fun for all!

But if you don't want to eat in the park, most of the Downtown Disney restaurants serve breakfast, or there is a Denny's or Ihop on Harbor.

I think you should try the Plaza! It's fun!

Jumping into this thread as we are planning for a first time visit to DL in early October as well! So do I understand correctly that you can get into the Plaza character breakfast for a 9:10 reservation on a MM even if you don't have MM privileges?

I've been trying for the last week to make a dining reservation for Fantasmic! BB package. I've looked online and have also called.
So far the dates have not opened for booking. I guess not all dining reservations are open 60 days prior......

Just called a moment ago for WOC package.....she said the dining reservation times still haven't been released for anything beyond Oct.3 because they are waiting on WOC showtimes to be released from the powers that be.
