Early November Travelers! For those arriving Nov 1 ~ Nov. 17

Hello! Gosh, its the first time I've posted on here in a LONG time. Got away from Dis for awhile and then came back as a lurker! However, here I am & I'm so happy to see this thread! We're headed down Nov 6-13th. AoA for 1 night (our excuse to add on an extra day......:woohoo::rolleyes1) and then renting points for the first time ever at BWV. We're taking our kids for the 1st time. DH and I have been twice in the last two years by ourselves. (Terrible parents..I know! :lmao:) This trip will be a lot different but we're excited to slow the pace down a bit & also bring the kiddos to Christmas party! :cool1:

could all of you give me opinions on a few restaurants? I have booked Cali Grill~our Best Friends here at home go every trip and they love it, but the reviews are so hit & miss that I am not sure now. Also, Artist Point, Tutto Italia and Via Napoli~ these last 2 because we have an Epcot night we want something new....honest opinions please...I am in a quandry! And tired of reading all the review sites/threads!:faint:
We love CG and it will be going down for an extensive refurb early next year, so now is the time to enjoy it before the big refurb! I've eaten there at least 5x and never had a bad meal and can't beat the fireworks view!

We really enjoy Via Napoli too- we've done it the past two trips and were going to try something new this trip, but simply couldn't give it up. I want my parents to experience it (new since their last trip in 09). I hope to try Tutto again now that it has undergone the refurb too!

Thanks y'all...we love the Hoop Dee Do, so maybe we should try the Whispering Canyon? Thanks for all the responses!! keep those opinions flowing in!!!
We also enjoyed WCC, much more casual than the other places you mentioned. And it has the whole CM role play involved, so the server can make it or break it for you. Plus, you have to be into the fun, joking atmosphere- it is very LOUD in there. If you want quiet, more upscale, WCC isn't the place. If you want fun, loud, casual, it is!

Please tell me that I did not kill this thread :scared::scared:!! I want to talk about the fact that I'm thinking of canceling Kona and going to Trail's End for dinner instead :goodvibes! Hello, where are all my early November peeps:goodvibes??!
No way Jose- still here! :) I've only done Kona for breakfast and really enjoyed it. My family enjoyed Trail's end, but never personally tried it.

we are there at similar times (11/8-17 for us). How fun for AoA!!!! even if just one night. BWV is nice-you will love it! How old are your kiddos?

DD is 4 and DS will be 9 months! So the "commando" style touring to "laid back" style will be much much different! LOL Quick question that I might be blind and just not seeing it myself. Are we still able to add on if you are celebrating anything on your ADR's? I made my ADR's at the 180 mark but completely forgot to say we're celebrating a birthday. Is it something we can just call or is there a way to do that online?

You can call and add it ahead of time

You can add it online very easily. Just pull up the My Reservations page and click on the link at the right of each ADR that says something like "More information" or "Details" (I can't remember which, but it's not the restaurant name link or the Cancel link). At the bottom, below the dining plan info, it will say Add a Celebration. You can enter the info there.

Awesome. Got it! Thank you. :thumbsup2 I don't know how I was missing that. Have a 'duh' moment. :confused3

Howdy :wave2:

Just found this thread! Count us in from November 11-17 (aw heck let's just say 10-17, I know I'm going to add that extra day, any second now! ;)) We are staying at POR.

I started a Pre-Trip Report and you can find it here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2974549
It's my first time doing one so I don't know how exciting it is... :upsidedow

Seems like we booked this ages ago but OMG November is in 2 months! :woohoo:

Hi again! New headache! I am booked on a solo trip but my best friend is thinking of joining me for what looks like 3 nights :)! Great right, so I told her just come, I've got the room and after emailing my TA, my friend will get free dining as well! Yay!! For the whole week! Double yay!! :goodvibes Well I got all excited, but then I realised I can't eat any more that I already have planned obviously lol! THEN I realised that I am staying at Pop, and that I paid to upgrade the plan to regular dining, so now those 3 days of dining are going to be..well, expensive :faint:!

I'm thinking it might be better to get the free quick service plan, and then pay OOP for what TS meals we want to eat. I know my friend would rather just go with free quick service so I'd still eat solo but only at my most must do places, I guess? It would be a little bit of a downer but I'd have my friend with me right? If she decides to come (they just came home from a Hawaii trip so unsure).

Only.. because my trip is a rebooked one from last year my TA said as long as this new trip is either more or the same as last year I wouldn't have to pay a fee. If I change it to quick serve I think it will drop below what it was last year :worried:! Ugh!

Kristina~ If you love fried chicken, you should eat at the 50s Prime Time at Hollywood and order it there!! Oh My word!! That is fantastic!!!!

I did have it there once in 2004 but it was rubbery :confused3! My absolute fave is the fried chicken at the Plaza in Disneyland :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes!! So so good!!

Your friend is going to have to buy tickets too to get free dining. whatever package you have. So just tell her the price along with the dining upgrade.

Yes but only for three days, and I would have to lower my tickets to three days then update them when I got there. Since I want 7 days dining for myself she has to have that as well and the dining plan is tied to the room. It comes to 64 dollars for 4 nights dining she wouldn't use unless, well we could always go signature. Although I don't have the strength to begin changing the ADR's and there's probably nothing available anyway.

Disney problems eh :)! No matter what, I'm going to WDW in two months time. It's almost time to start packing lol :goodvibes!!

Good morning all. Well, some of us are at the 60 day mark or real close at the this point. I know I am about 65 days out myself and am thinking about tweaking my ADRs a little (dropping Fulton's Crab at DTD)

That has a nice ring to it! :thumbsup2 I remember way back when we booked our trip I was so jealous of everyone leaving in 60 days. My countdown was 230 something then!

Same here. I managed to grab a true pre-RD Tusker House, so I flip-flopped that and Kona. And I swapped 1900PF and Boma to get an earlier ADR on our US/IoA day. The only things left I could possibly want to tweak is pushing Le Cellier back half an hour and finally finding that pre-RD Tusker on our AK day. But I'm totally fine with how things stand right now... So close!

We hit the 60s today!!! 69 days and counting...and yes, I will be tweaking our ADRs this week too!!! I will probably have a couple that I will cancel..when I do, I will post here so if y'all need it you can be aware of it!

58 days til WDW!!! Yay! And now, I have some thiings to take my mind off obsessing over Disney. I am heading to California next week for a few days, than flying to Florida for a couple of days on the beach, then am going on a W Caribbean cruise (I have my "Hurricane Be Gone" spray already packed just in case). Then 3 more beach days, and another week in California. (I live in WA). I will be home for 2 days after that, then go to a scrapbooking and fall festival trip for 5 days. That will carry me up til 2 weeks before WDW. I havent been anywhere for the longest time, and now it is all happening at once! I still think WDW will be the best time.
