Already booked Jersey week 7 4 5 ,, was wondering about changing to week after thanksgiving, probalbly no swimming ( 3 kidsthat will want to, but in exchange Mickey's X Mas, looking for input about crowds, park times, etc.

The nice thing about the week after Thanksgiving is the decorations are up and you get MVMCP too. I will also bet you will get some swimming in too.

Sis went the Sun after T-Day for a week and had a wonderful time ! Loved the Xmas Party. Weather was wonderful. We had all just been in Daytona, and were swimming on the ocean. Then they left for Disney and we had to come home :(

If I had my choice I would defineately say the first week in Dec. The holiday decorations are up and nobody does Christmas like Disney! Even spending a little time checking out all the resort decorations is worth the time. As far as swimming, the weather at that time of the year can be iffy but it can also be very nice, the pools are all heated and kids can tolerate cooler water temps. then most of us adults! Not only that but what is cool for someone that lives in FL is almost summer like for northerners:sunny: Both the times you mentioned are about the same crowd wise, but if you have not done a MVMCP you should try it...........I am on about my 15th year of doing it and never tire of it!

I do like the beginning of Dec. for all of the reasons previously mentioned, but I really thought this past Dec. was too cold to enjoy the pools. I took my son swimming once, but some days I don't even think it hit 70. My co-worker went last year at the beginning of Nov., and had great weather - low to mid 80's. In 2001 in the first week of Dec., it was much warmer, and we could swim everyday, so I think it's just a hit-or-miss type of situation. We're going mid-October this year as we don't want to chance not having pool time again this year, as well as we want to try the Halloween party.

The crowds will be a little lighter in early December, but if your kids want to swim, then I would stick with your plans and go in early November. You have to decide what is more important to you...swimming or the Christmas decorations and activities.

I *usually* go night swimming at WDW the first week of December. The pools are heated. You just have to hurry up back to your room. LOL ! ( and I'm 50 years old )
There are quite a few swimmers in December, and I've been there 9 Decembers in a row.

I think if swimming were an important part of your vacation, I would pick early November. Have been at Disney the first week of December the last 2 years and last year there was only one day that we would have considered swimming (and we have a cottage on the shore of Lake Superior and live where it is never as warm as the rest of the US). When we stepped off the plane it was colder in Florida than when we left home and we already had about 9 inches of snow on the ground!

In 2002, there were maybe 3 days out of 10 that we would have considered swimming....

In 2003, we were in a hotel that the pool was almost always in the shade....except for a few hours....so it was always cooler there too.
