EARLY morning...........

just supposin' one wakes up early....5ish.....is anything open? is there coffee anywhere?

I'm big on exploring, but it would be great to do it with a cup of coffee and a danish/muffin......

I'm definitely not jogging...and not just because it's 5 a.m.

The drink station is 24/7 so you can get coffee there. The Cove Cafe (for danish) opens at 7 and Topsiders/BBB opens at 7:30. Your best bet would be to order room service for the danish!!

Wondering too. Because 1 of my 3 kids manages to be up before 6 even it they go to bed late at night. This morning while in FL I did a Walmart run at 5:55 just to get the youngest out and not to wake up the others!

Definitely, room service is the way to go. Then if you want to go sit outside and enjoy the morning, you can just take it with you.

On our first cruise, I woke up around 6AM on the first morning. I think I was just very excited to finally be on the Magic!!

DH, DS7, and DS5 were sound asleep. I was getting hungry and didn't want to wake them, so I went to guest services to ask where I could get something to eat. They said nothing was open until 7AM because it was a sea day. They suggested room service. Not an option with a roomful of sleeping boys. So, I walked around the ship a little, enjoying the quiet. Then, around 6:45 they were just beginning to set up Goofy's Galley. I reached around the rope and took a single serve box of Fruit Loops! I relaxed on a deck lounger and ate my first breakfast on the Magic!!

I never got up that early again, but just in case, I always know where to get some Fruit Loops!!

I wonder if you could have called Room Service from Guest Services and then waited for them outside your room -- that way you wouldn't the sleeping pirates.

This is my main gripe about cruises in general (not just Disney is guilty of this). I am generally an early riser and I remember having to wait at least an hour every morning to eat. I wish they had some more early morning options for food.

This happens to me all of the time, too. I always think that the first "box" to check on the Room Service breakfast timeslot is TOO LATE I always don't want to call at that early in the morning and wake up DD with both the phone call as well as the knock on the door. Fortunately on Disney there is coffee 24/7 but on other cruise lines you really can't get a cup until 6:30. (Funny what one will do for a rather lousy cup o' joe )

It is interesting given that Disney IS geared to the early to bed, early to rise crowd that they don't have something opened earlier for breakfast.
It is odd that a cruise ship goes for 7 1/2 hours without a food option other than room service. Our gripe was the complete opposite of yours, since there is no nightly midnight buffet, there's no place to get something to eat say at 1:30 am. One of the few things we liked about NCL America was the Denny's style restaurant that is open 24 hours.

Wait until they are teens. DS actually slept until 5pm a couple of days during the summer.
Dropped DS and DD off at college this weekend. Both were groaning about having to be "up in time for 10 am class!!"

LOL!! Don't you remember wishing that the darlings would sleep through the night? Over the summer I'd call DD at home around noon and often would wake her up! But on a cruise I figure that I am paying good money for her to be snoozing so it's up and at 'em (at 9am, since I am reasonable)...

(I do remember cruising with a friend and his 15 y.o. great-niece. He was so mad to have paid all this $$ for her to come and all she ever wanted to do was sleep.)

I assume you could also order something from room service the night before so you can having something waiting for you when you wake up? Not sure if pastries are available in the evening, but I'm sure fruit, cheese, toast would be...?

DH has gotten up at 5 am and gotten coffee and danish which were on a table on deck 9 outside of the TS area. I will ask him exactly where that was located but I know that he has gotten this on each cruise while taking early morning pictures and waiting for the rest of us to wake up.

We used to get muffins near the drink station from about 6 AM on, but on our cruise last October, that was no longer available. They had relocated the early morning muffins/danishes to Goofy's Galley, which had an official open time of 7 AM. Sometimes a CM will set up earlier and get food on request, but not always.

The teens do this all the time...but not for breakfast. You can use any house phone to call room service and wait for them outside your room. They make the kids open the door to prove that it is their room before giving them the food.

If you know what you want and when you want it, you can use the hang tag on your door the night before--your breakfast will be delivered to your room at the time you specified! If you don't want them to knock, you can meet them right outside the door.

Early morning is one of the best times aboard ship! As mentioned check out the drink station on Deck 9 near Topsiders for morning coffee. The early morning is a great time to watch the sunrise, relax in the hot tub, swim in the pool, stroll along the outside decks, check out the artwork throughout the ship, and watch the ship "wake up". Between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. the deckhands in the yellow jumpsuits finish up their morning maintenance, and families start to come topside for breakfast, ping pong, swimming, etc. I find it to be quite a show! (Yes, I lead a simple life)

Enjoy your morning coffee as you stroll throughout the ship!

In the past I got room service the night before - and had a cup to go for my early morning - and then I just grabbed an apple/ banana for my room - and tada was able to wait till food opened up

I would grab some stuff the day before from topsiders - cereal, milk in the cooler, etc. and just keep it in your room.

Topsiders start depends on port time, it is as late as 7.30am, but I have seen 6.30am and 6.45am if you are in port early.

Huh? What time does Cove cafe open? Also, does anyone know it the regular coffee in Cove Cafe is brewed by the cup? On Carnival I fell in love with their coffee bar. They made each cup individually with freshly ground beans (like the way they make espresso). Yum!!!
