Early Morning Magic?

No one is saying you can't be pro-disney, the friction comes from you arguing and at times degrading anyone who may disagree with your opinion that everything at Disney is as it should be.

Sorry, the Dakota Territory can be a fun time in the spring-Wondeful Easter out there.

If you read my comments, a lot, by far most of them are simply being a positive individual.

If I work hard to create expendable money and select a vacation, and what to do on that vacation, I am going to choose what is valuable on my time off. So that experience at WDW (and US etc) has led me to know what to do, what we enjoy. The result will be positive feedback already known ahead of time. Why else would I spend money on something-only a fool spends money on things they don't like or are not of value to them.

Toss in I don't really depend on CM's and other guests to make or break my stays, or a paper towel on the bathroom floor, or some room service dishes in the hall, or other folks choosing extra cost parties or additions.

I already know ME is awesome for us-its not an opinion and it indeed can be argued but that's futile and won't change anything. Same with DVC. Same with FP+.

I get what your saying. But if you know my history-it shows I probably spend the least amount of my time at the parks than any of you. If everything at WDW was as it should be, or so unbelievably great-why would that be? And why do we travel other parts of the world?

How many on here hit Clearwater beach almost every trip? Or Universal Studios? And post the pics to prove it? Why would I do that?

And if it was located further north I would never even go (such as Paris type weather).

But of course I had to say WDW did a better job with the land purchases than Universal Orlando-well my mistake and I have been informed correctly for just wanting to argue I guess.

Now that the Extra Magic Morning hours have been officially announced, I have a couple of questions. Maybe someone here can answer for me:

1. Does anyone know anything about how ticket pricing will work? Do you think that there would be discounts for AP or VISA card holders?

2. Also, what will happen if folks have an existing at one of the early restaurants? We booked our 8:05 time months ago for our vacation in a little over two weeks, have preordered our breakfasts (4 people...over $100 for donuts and scrambled eggs) hoping to be able to dine, then have a slight advantage over the rope drop folks for the first few moments of the park being open. Will we now eat and then be shuffled to a queue and held for rope drop?

Thanks in advance,

I haven't heard anything about discounts yet.

I'm guessing yes you'll eat and then have to wait until rope drop.

So $69 plus tax for an hour and 15 mins of just guests with the early morning magic tickets (since park opens at 9).....I guess that makes the $149 plus tax for 3 hours of exclusivity seem like a bargain eh? Even with breakfast being included that's still steep (IMO) when you compare what you get for it since the purpose is to allow one the access to the hot ticket/long wait rides (just 3 though) before park opens to the public and you only have limited time to ride those rides and eat breakfast before the public comes in. And BTW since this requires theme park admission too while the after hours does not it makes it even that much more steep in price.

You know for about the same amount of money in 2014 I got a buffet breakfast as Pizzafari and an extended ride on the Safari at Animal Kingdom (works out to about 2 hours total)...

Was that a package of some sort (honestly asking) or was it because you were in the parks and only did the buffet breakfast and the safari ride?

They answered my questions on the BLOG:
1.
I’m interested in understanding how this will impact guests with existing early dining plans at Be Our Guest, the Castle, and Crystal Palace. We have an 8:05 AM reservation booked months ago, for a day that is now available for the Early Morning Magic guests. We’ve already pre-ordered our breakfasts, and are looking forward to it. But what will happen when we finish dining? Will we be allowed out of the restaurants, or held in a queue somewhere until rope drop?

Jeanne Lundeen on April 6, 2016 at 9:21 am

  • Yes, you will be allowed out of the restaurant.

Breakfast guests will be treated the same as they are today – you will be directed to a queue after breakfast to wait until the park opens. (For example, if a group finishes dining at Be Our Guest and wants to visit Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, they are queued outside the attraction until park opens and then are allowed to enter).

and 2, will there be discounts (AP or VISA)? answer, no.

So, We'll be keeping our BOG ADR and wait patiently after our breakfast to hit the rides at 9:00am.

Thanks, everyone!

Was that a package of some sort (honestly asking) or was it because you were in the parks and only did the buffet breakfast and the safari ride?

It was the Sunrise Safari package they used to offer people staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I considered that one a pretty good deal. All that extra time on the Safari, loads of great photos, an expert guide (not someone reading a script) and then a breakfast at the end and I'm already in the back of the park when other guests arrive.

Ah Ok that makes sense. I could actually see that being worth it because you're getting a different, and likely to most people, a better experience or at least a more informative/interactive one and because it was only offered to people who stay at AKL that did provide more exclusivity to the package.

To me at least that's a bit different than what they are offering here. There isn't a different experience people are getting they are just getting breakfast included (though yes some people would say hey that part makes it worth it); they are just allowed the option of going on the 3 rides with what people assume (since the # of tickets available isn't known) is no wait.

Now there is a person out there for everything Disney does so I am sure there will be those who gravitate towards this option and I don't begrudge them if they choose to buy the ticket.

I wonder if the fact that it includes breakfast at a single place is any indication of the number of tickets they will sell. Pinocchio isn't going to be able to accommodate all that many people. No way I would spend money on it, but this may end up a better deal than the night hours.

That to my mind is the distinction, not the price itself, but the fact that really they're offering nothing special at all for this except early entry for a handful of rides.

1) I have said that Disney was going back to charging for early and late night Extra Hours.
2) People did not believe.
3) They first started the $149 evening ticket.
4) Now, they have the $69 Morning Ticket.
5) My sources say that even on-site resorts will eliminate free EMH soon.
6) Gordon Gecko had it right - for Disney, GREED IS GOOD.

NOTE: Unfortunately, this is not an April Fool's Joke.

Orlando Sentinel, April 6, 2016:

Walt Disney World has announced its latest upcharge event, in which visitors who pay an extra $69 can enter the Magic Kingdom before everyone else.

Disney called the package "a new option perfect for families who want to get an early start at Magic Kingdom Park."

It means guests will get quick access to Peter Pan's Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – a ride notorious for long waits - and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The ticket also includes breakfast.

Early entry requires a separate ticket - $69 for adults, $59 for kids – plus regular theme park admission.

Disney Early Morning Magic will take place on select dates from 7:45 to 10 a.m. beginning April 26. The dates are different from those during which hotel guests get Extra Magic Hours at the park.

Disney announced they will start opening Magic Kingdom earlier for visitors who pay an extra $69 for admission.

Disney recently debuted something similar for nighttime. "Disney After Hours" costs $149. It allows customers to enter Magic Kingdom at 7 p.m. and stay there for three hours beyond the normal park close.

Disney has also over the past couple of years introduced events such as $99 dessert parties.

But can you blame them? If people are willing to pay 150 for a couple of hours, then as a company you should totally go for it. If we really want these ridiculously overpriced events to stop, we should really consider stop going to them.

Ok, I'm getting conflicting reports. Is this ticket charge for people staying offsite only or can anyone purchase these tickets? Also, I'm hearing onsite guest can no longer get in for morning EMH, is this true or not? And this is only on Tuesday and Saturdays??? So, onsite guest can't get in until 10am on these days or is it like an hour later??? I'm so confused.

Thanks

It's targeted at offsite guests, but open to anyone.

The park will continue to open at 9 for regular day guests.

So, onsite guest still get in at the same time as these ticket buyers do? Or are there no EMH for onsite guests?

Thank you for your reply.

On site EMH going away has been a rumor for a long time.

Disney Early Morning Magic will take place on select dates from 7:45 to 10 a.m. beginning April 26. The dates are different from those during which hotel guests get Extra Magic Hours at the park.

This indicates that for those of us staying on site we still get to have our for free.
