Early Morning Magic with new MK opening procedure

I was probably with you Hopper, my son and I tried EMM on Tuesday the 24th. I didn't like not getting in until 7:50...what were we paying per minute?? I enjoyed it until Mine Train went down after our first round. They gave us FP+ for it until noon, so we still enjoyed it more than we would have.

I was there last Tuesday too. I was disappointed at first when the 7DMT went down, but was happy that we were able to ride it until noon. They also opened It's a Small World up to have another ride option.

Yup my day. That was one expensive 5 minutes. I really feel like we should get in at 7:30 to make our way back there. We opted for PP first (rode 2x)and by time we walked to 7DMT it was down. For us (regular and AP) we can shuffle and make it work but for others who wanted to take off for the mountains etc during the first few hours or had good FP+ they didn't want to change ... that "until noon FP+" wasn't really a huge perk. Then one CM said this is not unusual for it to be down in am. I know we won't be doing it again. We loved the one at DHS but felt we overpaid on this one.

Yes and the carousel ............ when they told me I think my face was priceless ...........

I hope the EMM at DHS will be back this summer! TSMM is my most favourite ride though DD always wins!! I am not sure about EMM at MK. 7DMT is not my most favourite ride but it is not bad to get it done then use FP+ for the mountain rides. I concur if 7DMT is down often, then our touring plan can be really off. DD is 19 and she is never into princesses.

I would love the EMM for DHS if it included the bigger rides. Although I think if I rode TSMM 4 times in an hour my arm would probably fall off .

Hope they extend the calendar. I have one booked for May but really wanted to go with other family members in July.

For those of you who did EMM recently, were you able to capture a few empty Castle photos before going to the rides? Or were there more people milling around? THANKS!

Good question! I'd like to know as well. Are the crowds let in at the same time as the EMM people? I thought for some reason the crowds weren't let in until one hour before opening.

And for how much they are charging I hope we are let in at 7:45 if not a bit sooner to walk to Fantasyland! What a bummer to be let in late.

We did EMM this morning. We wanted to do something big to celebrate my daughter's Gotcha Day anniversary. Got there to the castle at 7:50. Long line to check in for EMM CRT reservations. Got through that line and had to wait in another line to get the bands. One lady was putting on bands.very.slowly. A family asked if they could put on their own while she watched. Nope. Another family asked one of the CMs who was standing there if they could help her. Nope. We got through at 8:04. Ran to Mine Train... closed. Kids were so upset. Rode Winnie the Pooh. Rode Peter Pan twice. Carousel was open but there is never a wait for that one when the park is open. Went back to mine train. Still closed. Went ahead and ate breakfast even though we weren't planning to eat until 9:50. Grabbed some fruit to put on the plate, and it had mold on it. I even took a pic because at this point, I was getting upset about spending this much money for two rides and a moldy breakfast. Got back out. Still closed. Went back again. Finally open at 8:45 despite it still showing as temporary closed on MDE.
Got in two rides before crowds came. We got unlimited FP for the Mine train until noon, but we had made our FP plans for frontier land and tomorrow land because we were supposed to be finished with fantasy land when the park opened. When went back to use the FP, the FP line was long and the ride was still having some issues. Out of three times riding it, we were stopped in the dwarf's mine twice.

I am so upset that we spent $300 plus for this event. The kids had been so excited to find out how many times they could ride Mine Train in a row. It really ruined the morning.

One of the CMs mentioned it had shut down quite a bit lately? We had some other customer service fails today. Four trips to Disney, and I have never complained to guest relations. Once I finally could speak with MK guest relations this evening, they were wonderful and went above and beyond to make our day magical.

Disney is on to the sharing of bands thing. We got our bands outside by the ticket scanners to come in the park so we were set before entering.

Same thing happened last Tuesday. Only time I tried to do it rope drop it took 2 hours to come online. It does seem to go down a lot.

I was considering EMM for our July trip, but after reading this and the other poster's story about the moldy fruit, I think I'll pass. So frustrating and disappointing after spending so much for EMM. Rides going down at park opening seems to be an ongoing trend. When we were there last July 7DMT, BTM, Splash, and FEA were all 'dead in the water' first thing in the morning. It was so bad I had to keep telling the kiddos, we'll do this ride if it's up and running, and that's just not right.
