Early Morning Magic Questions

OK, first post in long time. And I'm sure there are lots of threads on this topic so please bear with me as this is my first post in over year. Our last visit was April 2016, right before Early Morning Magic was rolled out. We're going again in April 2018 and have no plans on utilizing EMM. I'm wondering what impact folks have found that EMM has on MK crowds in general; the lines for attractions at rope drop and what impact it has if you have a pre park opening ADR at BOG. Is it safe to say that we should avoid EMM days at MK since we are rope droppers and pre park BOG ADR people?

There are only a very small number of spaces for EMM so I can't imagine it affects the crowds at all. We did EMM for the first time last week and took video of Fantasyland during it so we could show people how empty Fantasyland looked. Honestly there were MANY more people in the park early for breakfast at BOG than there were for EMM. I am guessing most people who did EMM did the same thing we did - immediately cleared out of Fantasyland when the park officially opened since we had already done most of the rides many times. I did notice that PPO breakfast people were not able to ride 7DMT during EMM. They had the EMM people use the FP line and held the PPO breakfast people at the entrance of the standby line until the park opened. I thought I had read that PPO breakfast people were still able to ride 7DMT before rope drop so that surprised me a bit.

Thanks! Actually, we did a PPO breakfast at BOG when we were there in April 2016 (no EMM) and were held at the 7DM line until the park opened. It was still worth it, though, to avoid the rope drop mayhem and dash to 7DM.

The biggest impact it will have on anyone wanting a PPO breakfast is that it guarantees that PPO stays PPO since they can't open the park earlier and still have EMM. If it were me, I'd be making my PPO ADR on an EMM day.

Wow, good point. Never thought of that!

I understand your point. But doesn't that mean the PPO ADR guests and EMM guests are entering the park at the same time? How is this controlled by CMs?

Separately, would each group of guests be able to take pre-opening photos of the castle from the end of main street?

Since Main Street is now open to everyone an hour before the rest of the park opens, anyone who's there can take all the photos they want.

Pre-opening photos have become a bit of a thing of the past since the opening show moved to the castle stage. You will have friends with a PPO.
