There is an Early Morning Magic (ticketed event- not EMH) scheduled for our first day at Magic Kingdom. We have not planned on doing EMM- but had planned to take advantage of Main Street opening an hour early for guests to shop, eat breakfast, and enjoy the quiet time in MK before the lands open. We did this last June and honestly, one of my favorite parts of the trip! With EMM, will guests not attending be allowed to get on Main Street an hour early like other days?

Also, how does this affect the regular rope drop crowds- will Fantasyland already be busy when the ropes drop? Will lines already be formed and long?

1. Yes.
2. Virtually unnoticeable.
3. Nope.
4. Nope.
By 9AM, most EMM guests will already be through with attractions and will be eating breakfast.

Have fun!

EMM does not affect crowds in Fantasyland at all. By rope drop everyone doing EMM has been able to do each of the open attractions in Fantasyland MANY, MANY times and are ready to move onto other areas of the park. There are only a handful of people at EMM anyway, not enough to affect crowds. We did EMM in July and Fantasyland looked completely empty. I was able to get amazing pictures with any one in the background of my shots.

Thank you so much!!! This is a big family trip with 11 people- so adding $70/person for an hour and 15 minutes would be a lot of money- plus we have Crystal Palace lunch already planned at 12- so the breakfast would not be worth it for us.
Kind of had a little panic when I saw EMM scheduled for our first morning- I feel better now! Thanks Robo!

Indeed, Main Street will still be open for everyone an hour early. There is no discernible difference in crowds on EMM days compared to non EMM days. There won't be any huge number of people in Fantasyland when you get there, and the lines will be pretty well exactly what they are on any other day at Rope Drop. The EMM event should have absolutely no negative impact on your morning plans!

Hey Lucky -
There are reports all over this board, generally all glowing. If you like the rides offered, and you're an early riser, and you have an appetite, it's a no-brainer (outside of the price.) Just do a search, you'll find multiple threads and reports - pretty much all about how fantastic it is.

Personally, the rides offered don't make it worth it for me, but that's me.
If they did an Early Mountain Magic, I'd be all in.
They offered EMM at DHS which was in a word: AMAZEBALLS. It's since been discontinued.
If the rides interest you for MK's emm, you'll be hard pressed to find ppl that say it wasn't worth every penny.

Our trip is in May- so I can’t help you before our trip. I don’t think we’re going to do EMM in May- the three rides just aren’t worth it for our big family trip of 11 people - plus we already have lunch dining plans- so the breakfast isn’t worth it for us either. But I have read great reports about it!

Sounds like you and I are in the same situation. We have slightly smaller party (7), but our fist day in MK is also a EMM. I was ready to start switching all my plans thinking it would be crazy, but everyone says that it's no big deal.

EMM was fantastic for my family! We are big 7DMT fans so having unlimited rides on that (ended up riding it 10 times!) plus PP and Pooh before the rope drop crowd came in, was fabulous! I am probably one of those glowing reports you will find on here. Any questions, just ask! I'm happy to help!

Another glowing review here. We (wife, 1-year-old daughter, and I) did EMM last February. It lived up to the name.

The experience of being in a basically-empty Fantasyland was amazing. Main Street really is almost empty (you get in at 7:45 at the latest, before others at 8), the photo opportunities are AMAZING. My one regret is that we didn't have Memory Maker on that trip so we didn't take full advantage.

With my then 1yo, Peter Pan and especially Pooh were great. We literally rode Pooh 3-4 times in a row without even getting out of the car! In total I think we rode PP 3-4 times, Pooh 7-8 times, and my wife and I each (separately) rode SDMT 2-3 times.

At rope drop we were already on our way to Thunder Mountain and a few other rides, then back for breakfast before it closed. By 10:00, we felt like we'd already had a better-than-usual full park experience!

(Naturally my daughter had a poop explosion right after breakfast. It can't ALL be magical, right? Must've been all the "Pooh" from earlier!)

For us, it was well worth the money, and my only regret is not having Memory Maker as well.

That said, we're not doing it this year because we want to try Crystal Palace for breakfast, and have an EMH morning planned in addition to a full park day, so we feel like our touring plan will cover everything we want. (To be honest, I still might cave, even if we skip the food, solely for the amazing photos!)

Hope this helps. :)

Thank you for the report! We are doing EMM in January and this makes me even more excited to do it. I love being in the parks when they first open and are empty-it's one of the reasons I like PPO breakfasts. I'm really excited about the photo opportunities. I had hoped to get some good pics and your post has me even more hopeful.

Yes, this definately helps me in my decision @Cabius! Thank you - now if I can only convince my spouse....we would have to purchase tickets for 4 adults and 2 kids. Yikes!!!

If everyone is not FULLY on board with waking up that early, AND the rides offered, then it might be wise to NOT purchase a ticket for everyone. Perfect excuse to let the others sleep in, and meet you at mk later, after breakfast. Do NOT be late for emm. I'd plan on being waiting in line to be let in no later than 7:30am.

We are staying offsite...will we be able to get into the MK parking lot this early and ride the ferry or monorail to MK? Not sure when these things open. We are doing EMM in early January.

Yes, you will be able to park at the TTC and get to the MK at that hour. No worries whatsoever.

Not necessarily. Main Street opens at 8:00. If any of the adults didn't want to do the EMM, they could simply wait for Main Street to open (only 15 minutes after EMM starts anyway) and then stroll Main Street, maybe get some breakfast, browse the shops, enjoy the entertainment, and meet you in Fantasyland after the park opens.
