EARLY morning drive WWYD...

WWYD....if you had to drive for an hour (to the airport) at 2am?

Would you sleep until 1ish? Maybe go to bed around 8?

Or would you try to stay awake until 2?

Keeping in mind, there's no oppurtunity to sleep once you arrive at the airport - flight at 6am, arrive at destination at 10am.

Sleep until 1. I have done flights like this and it was fine since I had some sleep beforehand. Why wouldn't you sleep during the flight?

It's only an hour or so long (the flight I mean) so there probably won't be much sleeping oppurtunity - the times I gave include the time difference

That's still an hour of sleep. I suppose you could go without sleeping but sometimes just a short nap helps us.

I would drive to the airport the day before, get a hotel close by and sleep til 4 then go for my flight.........and most hotels close to airports also have shuttles and you can leave your car there. Of course that is the US I don't know about your country. But to me it is very important to get a good nights sleep and I never function well with out it!

We should have done the hotel stay thing, but we were trying to save money. I regret that now actually.
Hopefully I can leave work early and nap this afternoon, rather than trying, but failing, to sleep this evening.

I would try to get some sleep or try to find a hotel by the airport, we are doing the exact same thing on our trip so we can take the early flight. have fun!!!!!

depending on how long your trip will last it many be more cost effective to either get a shuttle or stay at the airport. with the rates our local airport charges for long term parking after about 7 days it ends up being less expensive going these other routes.
