Early morning coffee on the Wish

We're taking our first cruise in a couple of weeks and it's on the Wish. I get up MUCH earlier than my family, and when staying at WDW I typically get up, make a cup of coffee (in the coffee pot that I move to the bathroom so I don't wake anyone up ) and sit on the balcony with my iPad. Is there a place on the Wish that I can go to get coffee and sit....at like 5 am? Thanks!

There is always coffee available at the drink station-deck 11. You can grab it and sit someplace quiet to enjoy.

I normally sneak out of the room with my tablet, grab a cup of coffee from the pool deck and read until it's time for me to watch the sunrise.

You could also order a pot of coffee from room service the night before to enjoy in the morning. The carafe should keep it pretty warm.

Be advised, the 'coffee' from the drink station is akin to sludge. We take the freeze dried Starbux one shots and drink those. Much better than the 'coffee'.

I was on the magic not the wish but my kids woke up that early and I always ordered coffee the night before and it was still warm in the carafe by morning and then drank that while I got them ready and then went to pool deck for more coffee. The ship was empty and magical with no one else around

Order coffee from room service and sit on your Verandah if you have one. Or go to cove cafe.

There is a hot water spigot at the pool deck beverage station that is available at all times. (This is true on the first 4 ships — I haven’t been on the Wish.) You can make tea using the variety of tea bags provided, or bring your own tea bags or instant coffee.

It’s true on the Wish as well.

Makes Starbucks seem like hot water I suspect. Took a tour of the Midway in San Diego and during the tour of the mess, they talked about how food is selected, and Chipped Beef came up. It was served because in times of battle, sailors may not get regular meals, and you want to load them up with as many calories as you could in one meal. It was a short term solution. Heart attack waiting to happen, but that is a long term problem.

I was an enlisted sailor before I got commissioned. Back in the 80s i was on deployment and we were undergoing replenishment at sea. The huge hoses were hooked up giving us fuel from the other ship and helicopters were ferrying over pallets (and pallets and pallets) of foodstuffs.

It was an all hands evolution and we were daisy chaining handing the boxes to the reefers (refrigeration compartments), freezers or storerooms. Every so often the line would stop as we re-aligned. One such time, I looked down to see what I was holding. "Oh, roast beef. Cool." Then I looked closer. "Grade DD, Not Edible for Human Consumption."

I always wondered when people said some people were being forced to eat dog food because they had no money. First, dog food is expensive. Second, much of it IS inspected by the USDA and IS fit for human consumption.

Yeah, the deck coffee I believe is made from concentrate introduced to hot water, about the same as the soda fountain makes cola.

It's not great, but it does the job. I've had worse... I've MADE worse!

I agree. I find the coffee on the ship mostly not drinkable. I also bring caffeine in the form of canned iced coffee and the instant packs from starbucks, which are indeed superior. There is hot water on deck. Room service will also bring you hot water, but it wakes my family.

Thanks, everyone! I've never had the Starbucks instant, so I think I'll try those. It seems like like that would be the easiest option.
