We have a 8:20am reservation for BOG in late September. I am not expecting to ride anything BEFORE the park opens, but I am trying to think of strategy. It will be 4 adults and 2, 4 year olds. Should we wait to get in line for either 7DMT or PP (knowing we will have FP for them later) and then go over to Space Mountain so the adults can ride, or do we go straight for Space Mountain and try and ride that a couple of times?

1. That's good, because they don't begin the rides until the park opens. ;)

2. Depends on if you want to ride 7DMT and PP twice.

There have been many reports of people finishing early at BOG and being allowed into the ques for Seven Dwarfs and Anna and Elsa before the rope drop people arrive. There have been some guests that have said they were not allowed to. Some people have reported riding two times in a row before the masses arrive.

I would focus on Seven Dwarfs. There have been a few times when waited for rope drop and PP wasn't operating quite yet. The first 10 - 15 minutes will be close to walk on.

Would we even be able to get over to Space Mountain if we wanted to, or would the whole Future World area be roped off until 9?

It would't matter if you didn't have access to Tomorrowland until about 9AM.
You'd still get to ride Space Mtn. once or twice before the big crowds filled the area.

Just an FYI in case you don't know.

With your 8:20 AM ADR,you will be allowed into Magic Kingdom at 7:45 AM and can start dining at 8:00 AM.

If you finish eating before the maingate crowd arrives at SDMT "around" 8:50 AM,you "most likely" will be allowed to ride SDMT ahead of them(or if you finish eating around 8:35 AM or so,you "may" be allowed to ride SDMT then.

You won't be allowed into Tomorrowland until Park Opening.

Does that also apply for most ADRs? How much earlier or later can you arrive to not lose the reservation?

We have an 8:25 BOG 2 weeks from today (WOO HOO)!!! I think we will try to get there even earlier. We go to WDW 2-3 times per year and have never done a pre park opening ADR. In fact, we've never even done a rope drop! LOL Can't wait!!!!

Any pre park opening ADR to any MK restaurant gets you in the gate at 745 on a 9 am opening day. However, getting in the restaurant early only applies to BOG pre park opening ADR's, as in 8am to 8:55am when MK opens at 9 that you are allowed in to BOG when it opens at 8 no matter what reservation time you had before 8:55. That's because it is counter service and you pick your own table. As far as how late you can be I don't know. For all restaurants I wouldn't want to be more than 15 minutes late, but I'm sure that, when possible, exceptions are made.

Yes! You have reason to be excited because Disney is coming out with a new 70 dollar early morning breakfast ticket that may change how BOG works! So be very excited that you got this reservation. It might be your last chance at this perk! Plan to be at the Gate by 7:30 at the latest. You will get in MK at 7:45, and BOG when it opens at 8. Don't forget to pre order your food so you can get in the speed pay line. And, yes adults can order from the kids menu if desired. Enjoy!

We're going to have to set an alarm at Disney! Lol.

I will check out the online ordering - never done it before!

Thanks!

Can kids order from the adult menu?

Can kids order from the adult menu?
Yes, if you're paying out of pocket. Dining plan used to always require a child to order off the child menu when one is available, but there were big changes in the specifics of the DDP recently that may now allow kids to order adult food (not sure). The Dining Plan sub-forum under Restaurants here on DIS is a good place for up to date info on that.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I searched and found this and want to confirm I understand. We have 8:55 BOG reservations with a 9:00 AM park opening, so can we arrive at BOG early (say around 8:20) so we are done dinning prior to the park opening?

We've arrived 15 to 20 minutes early for pre-park open ADRs and been seated almost immediately. It happened at Crystal Palace, CRT and Tusker House. But it's likely luck of the draw.

I would arrive at MK at 7:30. To be first through the MK gate at 7:45, then enjoy a stroll through a nearly empty MK to BOG. BOG will l let you in when it opens at 8. If you arrive at BOG at 8:20 I've heard that there may be a line and you might not get in right away, so you might not finish before 9. They most often open 7 DMT before opening and you might get a couple rides on it before the crowds arrive. In January they were opening MK 15 min early, so all the more reason to be at BOG at 8.

So we have an 8:05 BOG pre-park ADR from what I read the absolute earliest to get in MK is 7:45..?

How early should you go to get in the ADR line?
