We own at SSR and have gone there many times. Next year I am looking for a week at Boardwalk (2 bdrm standard view). What are the chances? Anyone know from personal experience?

October at BWV & BCV is getting tough due to the Food & Wine Festival. And a standard view room in general is tough to get at the 7-month mark.
I recommend calling day to day.

It's a very popular time there with F&W - but I believe if you call at the 7 mo window you will still have a pretty good shot at it. If you are really concerned abot making sure you have a place to stay - make your ressie at SSR, and then at the 7 mo windo, change the ressie over to BWV. Have fun!

Not particulary good for standard view. You'll probably be able to book PV if you call whenthe 7 month window opens.

My advice is to call MS to reserve the first night of your stay as soon as the 7 month window opens and as close to (9am Eastern as you can). Ask the CM how availabibility looks for the rest of your stay. Based on the answer, you'll know if you'll need to call each day for the rest of your stay or if it is safe to wait until the end of your window and make just one more call.

Best wishes -

So I could make a resie at SSR and change it over? If I do that do I change it over one night at a time? Thanks for our help!

Yes, make your SSR ressie now and as you make the day by day BWV ressie you would drop a SSR night for the BWV night.

I was thinking of doing this; but if you don't get one of your nights, you could end up with a split stay, correct?

Two bedrooms are the second most popular room type after studios. I booked a one bedroom standard view all at once at the eleven month window last year and was told there were only "two left." I'm planning on booking two two bedrooms for pretty much that same week and will call day by at eleven months. I think your chances are pretty slim, now that Food and Wine has been extended into October.

I think your chances of a preferred view are great, but SV are only 20% of the BW units - and very popular with people who call BW home.

Yeah, I agree... don't count on getting a standard view 2BR. They're very hard to get even at the 8 months point... much less at the 7 months point.

In my last three tries for a studio at BWV Oct 2004, Aug 2005, and Oct 2005 I have never gotten a standard view.

Start with the standard view request, and if not available, go with the preferred. "Better" vs. "standard" is simply a matter of opinion.

We had a great standard view room that overlooked MGM TOT, while a preferred room overlooked an overgrown tree that blocked all view of the community pool.

Its all a matter of point value.

Well, we are 1 week into the 11 month booking time, and MS just told me I got the last standard 2 bedroom and standard studio for Oct. 22 and 23 for '06. Things change, but if the waitlist is beginning now, it would be pretty long by the 7 month mark.

I tried to change VWL ressies to standard BWV ressies for June 11-15 and there wasn't a studio available for all of the nights. Now that the family thinks they'll be coming in '06, I'm trying to conserve as many points as I can!

Looking to get in (7 month window) mid October. I have my SSR ressie already.

What if I made a cash reservation and turned it into points withtin my 7 month window?

Cash reservations come from a completely different inventory than points reservations. You cannot convert one to the other.

If you have a points reservation and cancel it (late), it may be moved into cash inventory, but reservations never move from cash inventory into points inventory.

Would I have a better chance at BCV? I'm not sure the difference between the two?
